Security Guard Presentation

Transcript: Nathaniel Roybal and Alex Chinchilla Do you feel like the security guards on campus are qualified for the job? Introduction Introducti-on Our question was made so we can see if the students feel the school security guards are qualified for the job. We saw this as an important issue as schools safety is important for both the staff and students in the school. The idea came while walking around campus and actually noticing how late security gets to classrooms as well as how they do there job. They are mainly late to fights and tend not to do much but struggle to subdue students who are fighting which they should be able to do without a problem. Protection of campus should be taken seriously as students lives are in dager every single day in the crazy world we live in. Hypothesis Hypothesis: Including faults seen of the security guards to lean the subject towards saying that they aren’t qualified for the job and get a negative response on the biased question. Hypothesis Data Collection Data Collection Data was collected through an online survey which was taken voluntarily. It was also collected by going up to individuals and asking the question while writing down their responses. One of us had the bias question and the other had the no biased question. Pictures Pictures Graphs Graphs Biased Biased Unbaised Unbaised Conclusion Conclusion In The data collection we have come to the conclusion that by asking the unbiased question of do you feel like the security guards on campus or qualified for their job a majority of them said yes this majority being 42.4% saying yes not a huge margin but still significant one. Also that when asking the bias question of do you feel like security guards on campus recall effects for their job giving the fact that many students walk around without ideas and they usually hang out by the lunch tables That students feel the security guards are Are not qualified for their job and only some of them are it is an even split between the 2 answers 36.7% this creating the majority for the students feeling the security guards are not qualified. From the unbiased to the bias question there is a margin of 15.5% in the no section of people who answered no to the security guards being qualified. This means a 15.5% jump to answering no for the unbiased question. Thus leaving us with the conclusion of if asking a bias question that leans more towards an answer than the neutral question this will affect the results of the data. Errors Errors The only errors made were probably taking the two different types of data collection. Improvements Improvements Improvements that can be made are doing the data colection early so we can distribute it better and have a large sample size. This would allow to see more of a change or margin of difference in the data.
