There are three types of Real Estate and each category has different type of building associated with it, Commercial Real Estate, Residential Real Estate and Industrial Real Estate Commercial Real Estate refers to building such as shopping centers, strip malls, hotels, offices, hospitals etc. Taking by the name, commercial real estate is anything that is profit- oriented. In some cases, apartment buildings are considered places for resident. Residential Real Estate are buildings such as single family homes (which is the most common), condominiums, town-houses, triple-dekers and in some cases apartments. Residential Real Estate Industrial Real Estate includes manufacturing buildings and property, as well as warehouses. The buildings can be used for research, production, storage and distribution of goods. Some buildings that distribute goods are considered commercial real estate. The classification is important because the zoning, construction and sales are handled differently.
