USC

Transcript: University of Southern California The University of Southern California was founded following the efforts of Judge Robert M. Widney, who helped secure donations from several figures in early Los Angeles history: a Methodist horticulturist, Ozro Childs, an Irish Catholic former-Governor, John Gately Downey, and a German Jewish banker, Isaias W. Hellman. The three donated 308 lots of land to establish the campus and provided the necessary seed money for the construction of the first buildings. Originally operated in affiliation with the Methodist Church, the school mandated from the start that "no student would be denied admission because of race." The university is no longer affiliated with any church, having severed formal ties in 1952. The colors of USC are cardinal and gold, which were approved by USC's third president, the Reverend George W. White, in 1895. In 1958 the shade of gold, which was originally more of an orange color, was changed to a more yellow shade. The letterman's awards were the first to make the change Because of USC's proximity to Hollywood and close ties between the School of Cinematic Arts and entertainment industry, the university has been used in numerous movies, TV shows, commercials, and music videos. USC serves as a popular spot for filmmakers, standing in for numerous other universities, "playing" institutions such as Harvard and Oxford in movies and on television.[119] Movies filmed at USC include Forrest Gump, Legally Blonde, Road Trip, The Girl Next Door, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Love & Basketball, Blue Chips, Ghostbusters, Live Free or Die Hard, House Party 2, The Number 23, The Social Network and The Graduate.[119] TV shows that have used the USC campus include Cold Case, Entourage, 24, The O.C., Beverly Hills, 90210, Moesha, Saved by the Bell: The College Years, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, House, Undeclared, The West Wing, House, M.D., Alias, The Office, Monk, The United States of Tara, Gilmore Girls, and The Roommate.[120] The USC campus also appears on the video game Midnight Club: Los Angeles on its "South Central Map Expansion".[121] Recently the campus has served as a backdrop for popular television games shows Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Other television shows that have been filmed on campus include the 2004 Democratic Primary Debate, Hardball with Chris Matthews, The Scholar, The Best Damn Sports Show Period, CSI:New York, and College GameDay. USC has rivalries with multiple schools. Though generally limited to football, USC has a major rivalry with Notre Dame. The annual game is played for the Jeweled Shillelagh. The rivalry has featured more national championship teams, Heisman trophy winners, All-Americans, and future NFL hall-of-famers than any other collegiate match-up. The two schools have kept the annual game on their schedules since 1926 (except 1942–44 because of World War II travel restrictions) and the game is often referred to as the greatest intersectional rivalry in college football Facts USC at a Glance The University of Southern California is one of the world’s leading private research universities. An anchor institution in Los Angeles, a global center for arts, technology and international trade, USC enrolls more international students than any other U.S. university and offers extensive opportunities for internships and study abroad. With a strong tradition of integrating liberal and professional education, USC fosters a vibrant culture of public service and encourages students to cross academic as well as geographic boundaries in their pursuit of knowledge. USC Marshall School of Business

Transcript: On September 1st of each year, USC will begin to accept applications, there are three separate application periods each year although each person can only apply once at the Marshall School of Business at USC. Some applicants are invited to the campus for an in-person interview. A four year undergrad (high school education) is also required. There is a $150 application fee Based on the 2014-2015 fees, one has to pay a total of $92,223 for their first year at the Marshall School of Business. $59,184 of the total is the tuition cost, $10,000 are fees, $1,350 covers books and supplies, $17,889 for Room/Board, $2,000 for Personal and $2,800 for Transportation. As you can see, it's not cheap to get into this school, the admission costs more than most employees annual salaries. I found these statistics on the Marshall School of Business website https://www.marshall.usc.edu/mba/admissions/cost THE END USC Marshall School of Business Scholarships you could apply to Why you think you might like this program Courses you would take in the program Length of Program One can apply for a scholarship at this school. There is no minimum GPA required for applicants although a higher one has a better chance to receive the scholarship. There is also a scholarship for continuing students. I will try and get an undergrad scholarship at the business school as it would save me and my family a lot of money. Admission Requirements I would be taking the Marshall MBA Program. With an MBA degree in Business, I believe I will have broadened my horizons and future employers will be very impressed with my post secondary education. With an MBA from USC I will not have a hard time finding an employer anywhere in Canada or the United States. It is very important to me, one of my life goals to get the Marshall MBA degree. Cost for one year I believe it is a possibility I may not like this program, but I am doing it for the future. The job prospects that an MBA from Marshall School of Business brings are huge. I will make a whole lot of money in my future with this scholarship. Although I may not love my time in school, I will sacrifice a good time for two years to get my MBA and have a great time for the rest of my life There is a two year full time program which provides core business building blocks with the opportunity for specialization. There is also a three year part time option. I would more interested in the full time option as I would want to have a high paying job after I have my degree so the two year program allows me to get it as soon as possible.
