Transcript: Wood, Patti. "Texting vs. Face-to-Face Interaction." Communicaion Dynamics. 2012. Texting vs. Face-to-Face Facts: People like to be lazy. Biases: While I do like texting, I love having friends over or going out someplace together, so we can actually talk. I think seeing the facial expressions and body language of someone you are talking to are very important to the conversation and the person. Sometimes I think I learn more from someones body language then I do from what the are actually saying. I also love to get out of the house, so I'll pretty much look for any excuse to hang out with someone. So rather then texting a whole conversation, I try to text something more along the lines of, "lets meet up here to catch up." Cohen, Randy. "When Texting is Wrong." The New York Times. 13 July 2009. People like texting. Therefore lazy people like texting. Syllogism: Works Cited: Alexander, Anson. "Text Messaging Satistics 2012." AnsonAlex.com. 22 May 2012. Transcript: By: Maria, Esteban & Isaac Thank you for watching ! No entertainment no surfing the web Not being able to take an instant picture The consequences can be both good and bad. A good consequence is that there will be less teen deaths for driving and texting. This impact on society is that we can all live happier because we won't have our friends or someone we know die because of texting and driving. The bad consequences are communicating slower with people this can be bad because if its an emergency it can be too late by the time we hear back from that person. Bad consequences Good consequences social change Privacy - Something you can not say out loud you can say it through texting Safety- Driving without texting can be more safe. Globalization- mostly everyone has a cellphone & text on a daily basis. Connectivity- Most of us connect with our friends family & others through texting. Durability of historical information- It would be harder for us to save information Positive or negative impact? Texting Dont text & drive! - Less teen deaths - You would have to call people - Less distractions - Get more things done - We would take more time to communicate - We would not communicate with people living in another state, country etc. What life would be like
