Transcript: Disposal -Cut trees to make boxes -Use of gasoline This is where the wallets are produced. Here many emissions are let off. Including run off from leather treatment and air pollutants from powering the factory Production Cotton Raw Materials Extraction/ Creation Leather is the skin of an animal, bird, or reptile that has had its hair removed and that has been treated against rotting. Cows, buffalo’s, calves, and pigs produce that majority of leather. Cotton are picked up. Unfortunately there's no specific leather recycling bin for community pickup. Unlike glass and plastic, it isn't possible to melt leather down and make a new leather wallet. Your best bet when trying to recycle leather is to find another use for your old leather goods. Or just throw the wallet away. Use- Money holder, ID holder, credit card/gift card holder Transportation This is used to make the cloth and string used on the inside of the wallet and in order to sew it up. Factory Process Process- The skins are salted and dried so that they do not rot during their trip in a process called curing. Depending on the thickness of the skin, this process takes anywhere from a few hours to a few days. When the skins reach the buyer, they are then transformed into soft, pliable, and malleable materials that can be used to make shoes, handbags, and wallets in a process called tanning. Tanning prevents putrefaction, but more so than that, it prevents those wonderful wingtips of yours from rotting off your feet. From this process, it takes a great amount of time to make a wallet, however the industries can also create pollution into the atmosphere. Wallet This is used to make the plastic that is often inside of wallets to hold IDs Petroleum Use

Transcript: Presented By.. Maram Shuaib.. Near Field Communication It’s a set of close-range wireless communication standards, much like Bluetooth and WiFi, for Smartphone. It's different in that it operates at very slow speeds and only at a short range of just a few centimeters. With an NFC chip and antenna, you can use your Smartphone to make contactless payments at NFC retail terminals, parking meters, taxis and many other places. NFC is extension of RFID (radio frequency identification) which is the use of a wireless non-contact system that uses radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data from a tag attached to an object. As an example : NOKIA uses NFC to automatically complete the steps of enabling, pairing and establishing a Bluetooth connection when doing a file transfer. Google Wallet What is Google Wallet? Is a mobile payment system developed by Google. It is a virtual wallet that securely stores your credit and debit cards. You can tap your phone to pay in-store contactless payments and pay online by signing into your Google Wallet account. NO!! It’s available in US. How does the Google Wallet mobile app transmit payment details? The Google Wallet mobile app uses Near Field Communication (NFC), a secure, wireless connection to transmit payment details to the merchant. Privacy & Security Advantages and Disadvantages Advantages of Google Wallet •Faster to pay for things. •Very secure. •Eliminates the need for some to carry around a wallet. •Easy to use. •free. Disadvantages of Google Wallet •Having virtual money source may encourage people to spend more than they have. •One would have to take his or her phone out more often to pay for things. •People are more likely to glance over and steal your pin number. •It’s not usable at every single store. Does it cost? The Google Wallet device must touch or be in close proximity to a MasterCard PayPass reader. The Google Wallet app requires an additional PIN to activate the antenna of NFC chip. Google Wallet stores encrypted user information on a chip called the Secure Element. The Android device itself can be locked with a (PIN) Personal identification number. NFC Once the transaction is completed, the antenna is turned off. Additional transactions require the PIN to be entered again.

Anyone can use electromagnetic fields to identify your private information (credit card numbers, bank acount numbers, and identification information) and track objects with tags. As the company Ridge wallet explains, "In the case of the credit cards and driver’s licenses sitting around in your wallet, these ‘tags’ contain electronically stored information that RFID readers can lift with interrogating radio waves." what is a smart wallet? https://fantomwallet.com/ The Fantom Ansix Designs was created in 2014 when a group of engineers came together to design high quality products that are good looking and functional. As the people at Ansix Designs say, "We are constantly looking for innovative ways to improve existing products and to create new inventions. We believe there are always better, simpler ways to do things " The price of this wallet ranges from $72-$96 https://ekster.com/pages/about Exster We believe peace of mind starts with the essentials you carry with you on a daily basis. It is our mission to upgrade these essentials to modern standards and change the way you carry your valuables. If you think about it, it's shocking that most wallets have no security built into them. A product which holds so much sensitive information and goes everywhere with you should be better safeguarded. So we decided to develop something both efficient and secure for your pockets. That's when Ekster® was born. A brand with the goal of optimizing the way you carry your everyday items. After meeting on a Fulbright scholarship in the USA, founders Rick and Olivier found that being Dutch wasn’t the only thing they had in common. They pitched their idea to a Kickstarter wallet enthusiast, Richard, and he was instantly sold. What started as a chance encounter between two Dutch college students grew into a shared frustration with existing EDC products and a thriving business. " Ekster is a company that believes in developing something that is both efficient and safe. As said by Ekster, " If you think about it, it's shocking that most wallets have no security in built into them. A product which holds so much sensitive information and goes everywhere with you should be better safeguarded." This wallets cost ranges from $29-$99.
