Creating Try to make your night light as creative as possible! Paint it the colors you planned unless you don't like them so sketch the colors out again. this way you make sure that your night light is as impressive as possible. Secondly cut the clay into the shape you want. if you want it to be cylinder shaped then the net will have to be a cuboid so you can construct it! outlook Paints! first, paint your night light in one color all over. This color will be the base color and the most seen. after it has dried, paint over the top onto the bits that you want to be another color. Now your ready to start designing it and remember to cut the windows out of it so the light can shine through. then fire the night light! photo frame It looks bright and impressive and your friends will love it. Transcript: Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) BY: Jada Marsh, Edwin Ortega What causes the Northern Lights What causes the Northern Lights? The Northern lights are collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere with charged particles released from the suns atmosphere. The variations in color are due to the type of gas particles that are colliding and bumping into each other. The Northern Lights are 60 miles from the surface of the ground. Absorption is the process or action by which one thing absorbs or is absorbed by another. The absorption of energy by oxygen and nitrogen ions causes electrons Emission/Emits- Excited Electron States- When the energy by oxygen and nitrogen ions causes electrons the electrons get "exited" They move from low energy to high energy orbitals. The northern lights form when charged particles emitted (produced) from the sun during a solar flare they go through the earth's magnetic shield and collide with atoms and molecules in our atmosphere. Absorption- The Colors The Colors The colors of the Northern Lights depend of 3 factors What atoms the charged particles collide with The speed of the collision At what altitude Because of the composition of our atmosphere varies, different colored auroras occur at different heights.
