Car Presentation

Transcript: Mady and Jon -Different cars carry different weight in American culture. For example Cadillac, Audi, Porsche and Mercedez are all high class cars. Their commercials tend to have more elegant music that makes you feel high class. -Chevy, Ford, Honda, and Chrysler tend to be your "family" vehicles. The commercials tend to have kids in them so they use upbeat and happy songs. -Chevy, Ford, and Dodge are the main truck suppliers. Trucks = work so they have country songs or a more hard working kind of vibe, for example Dodge commercials have a deep voiced man explaining the truck while a serious beat plays in the background. -According to TVB car commercials are the most influential type of commercial. -nine percent of people will be influenced to go in and look at a car if they have seen a commercial 1-3 times. But the % jumps up to 16 if they have seen it four times. -Frequency is everything in car commercials Audi E-Tron -The man with a deep voice is commentating, giving you the feeling that the truck is manly and powerful. -Stats about the truck are given in the commercial, so there is factual proof that the truck is the best out there. -Although there is not an actual song in the background, the sound effects create enough noise that it sounds like there is a soundtrack. Music in Commercials "Respect the Van" Different types of cars, different type of music Porsche Carrera S - It is an old action/ adventure type of tune -It makes you feel like the van can do anything because of the different scenarios the van goes through during the commercial -There is no actual description of the van during the commercial, but the music makes you know that the van is awesome. It is capable of handling your life with ease and makes you look good even though it is a van. -It is not your typical family van commercial, and that is why it stands out. Ram Trucks - The Audi is a higher class vehicle so this commercial uses a technological beat to give the feel of advancement. - There are no words during the commercial to inform you of the upgrades the vehicle has but the music gives you that effect. Commercials - The orchestral music gives you a sense of elegance and class about the porsche. - Once again there is no words describe how great the car is but the music fills in what words cannot describe.
