Why it's important to pray for others... - Establish a relationship - Eugenia Brown, a history instructor at Edgewood College: “I no longer pray to try to change God’s mind, to influence or persuade God to do what I want done. In the homework you did last night,(or whenever you did it) you read about praying for humility.... Well what is humility? What is Humility? Transcript: Praying for Rain By Robert Lewis Vaughan Synopsis Synopsis Marc is an 18 year old athlete that gets into a crippling motorcycle accident, meaning he can't play any sports anymore. From then he spirals into a bad crowd and gets suspended in after school detention with Ms. K for trying to sell a gun to a 13 year old boy with his bad influence friends, Chris and Jim. His constant self destruction causes a life changing tragic event that would change his view forever. Themes Themes 2 constant themes demonstrated through the show are... -the effects of teen and gun violence -emphasizing the importance of communicating and appreciating those around you for the time being. Set ideas Set Ideas (show everyone the sketched out set layout) Significant Moments Significant Moments The first scene I am excited to work with is not really one scene. I am excited about the unspoken situations or transitions that happen. There is a point where Ms. K and Marc are talking and Chris and Jim just suddenly watch them talk and the judgment is shown. But also at the same time, there is a picnic between Liz and Brian. However, when the couple enters, Chris looks at only them while Jim is still focused on Marc. This foreshadows the impact that this couple will have on Chris, which leads him to take his own life. Then later in the scene, Jim crawls toward the couple and circle them like a shark about to attack his prey. Number 1 The second moment that I would like to block is the fight scene between Chris, Jim, and Brian. Although it’s more of a beating scene instead of a fight, there is still struggle with Brian and he attempts to escape the torture. This scene is extremely important because it shows the inner dynamic between Jim, Chris, and Marc. It shows Marc’s growth and how he chose to leave the scene and not participates although he does shove Brian once at the beginning. It also needs to show a bit of hesitance or guilt with Chris. Not extremely noticeable but enough to know that Jim is leading the beating. And finally, you need to show Jim’s crazy eyes that are unable to stop once he has started beating Brian. Number 2
