And we believe that balancing a meaningful career with a fulfilling life – family, friends and fun - is critical to the success of our company and makes us exceptional. USE TECHNOLOGY FOR GOOD Innovation will separate us from the pack. We believe that tech should be used as a vehicle for good for our clients, and as a supplement to a personal insurance relationship, rather than as a replacement to one. If there's an opportunity to serve our clients in a new or better way, we'll find it. Or we'll invent it. & beyond daily Both in what clients need, and what brokerages need to offer. A better experience awaits. Transcript: On a piece of paper, put in order(1,2,3) which need you think is the most urgent and would try to satisfy first. FOOD WATER SHELTER Briefly write an explanation of your choices. Characters Brian Robeson is only 13 years old when he is stranded alone in the Canadian wilderness after the plane in which he is flying crashes. All he has with him are the clothes on his back, a hatchet that his mother gave him, and a secret that has been tormenting him ever since his parents got divorced. Now he must figure out how to survive on his own using only the tools that he has and his own inner strength and courage. Will he ever be found? More importantly, will he be able to survive alone? Being alone in the wilderness raises lots of concerns. You’ll need food, water, and shelter until the rescuers arrive. Of these three, which need is the most urgent? In what order would you look to satisfy them? Brian Robeson, a 13 year old boy, is on his way to his dad’s oil field in Canada. The pilot, Jim or Jake, is flying Brian to his dad’s in a small twin engine plane. Brian’s parents are divorced. His mother is the object of the "secret" Brian can't stop thinking about. His father is a mechanical engineer and has made a new drill bit for the oil drills on the tree line of Canada. HATCHET by Gary Paulsen Do you have what it takes to survive? Imagine being stranded. You are completely alone, in the wilderness. The sights, sounds, smells—everything—is new and unfamiliar. You have no food. You have no water. You have no way to contact the outside world. The story takes place in Hampton, New York, the forests of Northern Canada, and in a Bush plane called a Cessna 406, in the present day. Questions for thought: Settings Cessna 406 Plot a thirteen year old kid named Brian Robeson is stranded in the Canadian wilderness after his plane crashes. Brian must learn to survive in the wild and accept his fate. Brian is flying from Hampton, New York, to the oil fields in northern Canada. The 1327 mile range of the Cessna 406 would probably place him in the forests of northern Ontario. What to do???... RISING ACTION The rising action starts in chapter one when Brian’s plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness and he is forced to find a way to survive. It keeps going with him learning new skills every day and growing and maturing until he is finally rescued. Northern Canada Created by: Julio Manley It is a two passenger bush plane- a light, propeller-driven aircraft designed to land on, and take off from grass airstrips or rough ground. It takes goods or people to remote areas. SILENT MINGLE Suddenly, disaster strikes. The unthinkable happens!
