ITS BETTER IF YOU LISTEN TTO THE SONGS WHILE READING!! Love Stuck Love Stuck My feelings ran away I didn’t know how to treat them Maybe if I believed them they’d have stayed I hope they’re somewhere safe Living in a daydream Singing to a song I couldn’t play But if I saw them on the street I’d say “My baby’s come back to me” Cause I’ve got my love stuck in my head, in my head I’ve got my love stuck in my thoughts, in my thoughts I’ve got to keep my love in my heart I’ve got to keep my love in my heart I’ve got my love stuck in my throat, in my throat I left my love out in the cold, in the cold I’ve got to give my love to my soul I’ve got to give my love to my soul And let go My angel flew away I didn’t know how to keep her Heaven knows I needed her to stay I hope she spreads her wings Slouching on a sunbeam And dancing to a song I couldn’t sing But if I saw her on the street I’d say “My baby fly back to me” Cause I’ve got my love stuck in my head, in my head I’ve got my love stuck in my thoughts, in my thoughts I’ve got to keep my love in my heart I’ve got to keep my love in my heart I’ve got my love stuck in my throat, in my throat I left my love out in the cold, in the cold I’ve got to give my love to my soul I’ve got to give my love to my soul And let go And maybe it’s just time, it’s just time That it takes, it’s just time that it takes But I don’t wanna wait, I wanna love again today My feelings ran away I didn’t know how to feel them Cause I’ve got my love stuck in my head, in my head I’ve got my love stuck in my thoughts, in my thoughts I’ve got to keep my love in my heart I’ve got to keep my love in my heart I’ve got my love stuck in my throat, in my throat I left my love out in the cold, in the cold I’ve got to give my love to my soul I’ve got to give my love to my soul And let go I’ve got to give my love to my soul I’ve got to give my love to my soul And let go "your soul stained my shoulders. my whole life smells like you. this will take time. undoing you from my blood." Quote by the work: Quote by the work: "Love Stuck," by Mother Mother could possibly be about a break up, or the attempt to forget a love/lover. "My angel flew away/ I didn't know how to keep her," could refer to the inablitly to keep a lover. "I left my love out in the cold"; might mean that he, or she, didn't decidate time to their love, hence the break up. And because of that, he or she is stuck with the wrongs they did to or with their lost love and their regrets. Analysis Analysis Baby, don't you worry I'm not lonely, I'm just alone Baby, don't you worry I'm not angry, just throwing stones You've heard it all before I play the same three chords But we still seem to forget all the words This happens time again Two lovers turn to friends A story told that doesn't really end Baby, don't you worry I'm not crazy, I'm just crazy for you You've heard it all before I play the same three chords But we still seem to forget all the words This happens time again Two lovers turn to friends A story told that doesn't really end Baby, don't you worry Baby, don't you worry You've heard it all before I play the same three chords But we still seem to forget all the words This happens time again Two lovers turn to friends A story told that doesn't really end Baby, don't you worry Worry Worry The repetition of lovers becoming strangers after a break up. A friendship becoming something more, and thus the cycle repeats itself. 'Worry' could possibly portray an on and off relationship? Or an unsteady, unstable, unhealthy one, where no one knows what to say or do about anymore; they're beyond saving. Interpretation Interpretation A Meme A Meme The Drugs The Drugs Cause you’re hotter than the sun And you’re better than the drugs I used to love I would lose my decadence I’d do away with all the dirtiness for your love I would become innocent I’d listen to everything mamma said for your love Cause you’re hotter than the sun And you’re better than the drugs I used to love And you’re deadly like a gun Yeah you’re deadly like the drugs Oh the drugs, I used to love Send me down an angel And let it pull me up from my own hell We could float around this space We’d be above all of the pain in ecstasy Cause you’re hotter than the sun And you’re better than the drugs I used to love And you’re deadly like a gun Yeah you’re deadly like the drugs Oh the drugs, I used to love Give my best to the mess I’ve had my fill of it And give my worst to the curse I’ve had my fill of it And give my blessing to depression I’ve had enough of it Had e- had e- Had enough of it Cause you’re hotter than the sun And you’re better than the drugs I used to love And you’re deadly like a gun Yeah you’re deadly like the drugs Oh the drugs, oh the drugs, I used to love Correlation between love and addiction: Love I

Old Timey Medicine

Transcript: Leeching Anaesthesia and Surgery As mentioned earlier, there were actually many medical breakthroughs in this period. One of them was a primitive version of immunization, called inoculation. It started when an experienced physician named Edward Jenner realized that milkmaids weren't contracting smallpox. He made the connection that smallpox and cowpox were similar enough that someone exposed to cowpox first never contracted smallpox. He began infecting his patients with the weaker and much less dangerous cowpox and, lo and behold, they never contracted the more virulent smallpox. One of the most-used remedies in medicine at the time was the application of leeches. Their name, Hirudo medicinalis, wasn't given to them for no reason. They're actually amazing creatures, and for modern fixes like plastic surgery and limb reattachment they can work wonders. Unfortunately, in the Regency period they were often used poorly, and there were British and French surgeons on and off the battlefield attempting to stop bleeding by bloodletting and applying leeches. The irony was lost on them. Leeches were used so often back then that you could often hear doctors being called "Leeches". That and "Sawbones". The stethoscope, the telltale sign of the medical profession, was also invented in the middle of the regency period. A French physician named Rene Theophile-Hyacinthe Laennec inadvertently discovered that by rolling up a stack of paper and pressing it to a patient's chest, he could hear the beating of the heart much easier than by pressing his ear to it instead. FONTS Old-Timey Medicine Anything groundbreaking? By Ian Johnson On Regency period anaesthesia, there's a simple, one-word description: Nonexistent. Chloroform, the first major anaesthetic, wasn't invented until the very end of this era and wasn't commercially produced until the 1850s. So the only anaesthetic used in surgery would usually involve making the patient drink lots and lots of alcohol. Surgical instruments were usually kept in black leather medical bags, and there were many of them. Everything from bonesaws to forceps and primitive syringes, as well as some strange and frightening instruments fortunately no longer used, such as bleeding cups and uterine probes. Medical practices during the Regency period in Britain could best be described as primitive. Medicine hadn't really changed all that much since the Dark Ages. The primary necessities for modern medicine, best described by historian Roy Porter as "The Three A's" weren't developed until the 19th and early 20th centuries: Anaesthesia Antisepsis Antibiotics However, most of the knowledge and research that gave way to great medical breakthroughs such as immunization and pain medication did take place during this period.
