Each class will incorporate ways to work together because the Human Capital is the most important part of the program! exposing them to New and different ways of thinking! The Team Building Aspect of learning will be prevalent. first preparing them for the opportunity to be in the east program! Team building will continue; however, they will have the opportunity to experience new and different Technology as well! second introduction to east! They will have the opportunity to experience and lead! They will be using their Team Building Skills to Determine Projects and Which Technology or Community Partners May be needed. Third working alongside older peers to accomplish the goals they establish! Building more team Mentality while incorporating the community partners, technology, and solutions to problems. fourth the leaders of the program! Where will they take us? They will continue to work on their human capital while leading the east program to the top! fifth How HOW Will all grades be served? KinderGarten-second K-2 My vision for the K-2 Program would be: The creation of a Junior EAST Academy. They will be given a chance to experience the relationships built in the EAST program. They will also take part in introductory EAST projects and presentations. 3rd GRade EAST STudents The students who have chosen to take part in the EAST program would be served in 30 minute chunks daily. This would allow them to work on their chosen projects while not missing too much class/instruction time in the regular classroom. 3rd 4th and 5th grade students The 4th and 5th grade students who have chosen to participate in EAST will be served in 45 minute chunks daily. They will lead our program into an unimaginable future! 4th-5th IDEAS Open your mind for new ideas student Driven The students will decide the direction the class will take to address concerns in our community. The Excitement will be Catching! They will become the professional in many new and different forms of technology, speaking, and presenting. Facilitating Learning The students will have many opportunities to truly lead the discussions, activities, and make a difference in the world! They will form Community Partners, Mentor one another, experience true mentor-ship by community members, all while leading our school to the top! student led Our Mission: EAST provides all learners the opportunity to have relevant, individualized, life-changing educational experiences. Experience As a GT Facilitator, I have had the opportunity to lead my class similarly to the EAST Program. I feel that with my experience, education, and training in the Teacher Leadership Institute, I would be able to lead our EAST Program to Excellence! The excitement surrounding this program is contagious! It will only take a spark to grow a great fire of knowledge in the Monitor east program! Technology Driven The students are Digital Natives and will use problem solving and trial and error to discover how and why to use a wide variety of resources. Tech Student Driven The students will be responsible for determining the direction of the course. They will decide what they will focus on and why. student SErvice Learning The students will determine the direction they will take on their service projects. They will keep a finger on the pulse of the community to decide the pressing projects. They will seek guidance from the community partners to decide which areas have the greatest need and urgency. service Collaborative The students will collaborate together, with other buildings, and within the community.
