Transcript: Triangles and stuff What is Poly Art? The history behind Low Poly Art Why did LPA become popular? Filters? Poly by Poly? Best software and quick how-to Adobe Illustrator: 1. Import photo/reference photo. 2. Always use pen tool (p for shortcut). 3. Choose a bright colour and start planning out and filling your image with triangles. 4. Before laying the colours down make sure to: object > Live Paint > Make. We do this to make sure that every triangle is a separate space. 5. Now you simply use eyedropper (i) to pick a colour from the picture or choose your own colour from the colour palette and then press (k) to use paint bucket and fill the shape with colour 6. Basically do the previous step as many times as you need to finish laying down all the colour, it's pretty straight-forward :) (please ignore prezi not accepting my british pronunciation of colour)

Some Helpful Tips: On the more detailed sections use smaller shapes Triangles seem to look the coolest when project is complete, but that's a matter of opinion.

With your portrait in Photoshop, go to view and make sure ruler and snap are checked. Changed the blending mode to screen After Set grid style:lines grid line every: 20 pixels and subdivisions: 2 and brought down the opacity to 35% Using the grid as a guide, create a triangle around specific angles or colors in the image and face. Low-Poly Portrait I wanted my image to have a cooler tint to it, so I added a layer with a purple rectangle. (to deselect a triangle use command+d)
