Transcript: What is Project ICE? Why would you want to be a volunteer with Project ICE? Commitments involved: - Approximately 3 hrs/week (worst case scenario!) - The more people we have on the team, the less work per person. - Being available when you say you will be available! - And letting us know when you won't be! -Work involved per person: - flood week! - shoveling and helping re-flood as necessary Team Leaders: - Sriharsha -Wilfred - Kelly - Satisfaction of giving back to the University community - Volunteer work that can be used on a resume for future jobs or professional colleges - Meeting and socializing with other people who live in residence! -Snacks and hot chocolate! Other notes about Project ICE: Additional benefits: So you want to be in Project ICE? - A group of residence (Voyager Place!) student volunteers who are working together to build an ice rink in the bowl that will be available to anyone! At the end of flood week and the end of the year, we would like to have a party! - Non-alcoholic - Can possibly be off campus, example: bowling! - Open to other suggestions! - Put your name, phone number, and NSID on the sheet in the back - We will be having an additional meeting discussing schedules before we get started! - Meeting will be next Thursday, time to be included in an email! Project ICE - 3 Parts: - Prepping the ground - laying down boards and putting up a snow fence -Flood week - Five to seven days of re-flooding the ground -Maintenance of the rink - Shoveling when it snows - Re-flooding as necessary - An ice rink has been made in the bowl in past years, however, this is the very first year that an actual team is building it! - This is a pilot project!
