You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits. MATTHEW 7:15-20 THE PURPOSE OF OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE IS TO BEAR FRUIT. The fruit of the Spirit is referred to in the singular, not the plural as normally done in the case of many fruit, indicating that the fruit of the Spirit is one, with several manifestations. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude.
