Founded in Chicago in 1972, Prevent Child Abuse America is focused on changing the way our nation thinks about prevention, emphasizing community activities and public policies that prioritize prevention from the start to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur. PCAA takes great pride informing donors that almost 89 cents of every dollar is spent on programs, not fundraising and administration, on such activities as Healthy Families America, public policy development, and information regarding child abuse The Crescent House, a service of The Children's Hospital at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, is a children's advocacy center designed to meet the needs of children who have made allegations of being sexually abused. The Crescent House is a facility supplied with state-of-the-art equipment that enables specially trained professionals to conduct effective, consistent, non-threatening interviews and examinations of children who have made these allegations. Its a "one-stop-shop" so to speak, utilizing a multi-disciplinary team approach to the investigation, treatment and prevention of child sexual abuse. National statistics indicate that sexual abuse before the age of 18 occurs at the rate of 1 in every 4 girls and 1 in every 6 boys. Eta Mu's Shamrock Week FYI
