Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.

Reindeer

Transcript: Reindeers travels up to 5,000 km (3,100 mi) a year. They normally travel about 19–55 km (12–34 mi)a day. while migrating, the Reindeers can run at speeds of 60–80 km/h (37–50 mph) A reindeer can swim easily and quickly, normally at 6.5 km/h Migration relates to magnet Lichens http://www.eng.samer.se/1132 What is reindeer ? Female : 162–205 cm (64–81 in) 79–120 kg (170–260 lb) Why do reindeer's migrate? Size Diet Male have different species but in general : 180–214 cm (71–84 in) 92–210 kg (200–460 lb) What is a mountain reindeer and a forest reindeer? The most important reason is that the reindeer's access to food varies with the seasons, and external conditions can also cause problems, such as cold, dryness, heat or insects. The mountain reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus) is adapted to life in the mountains, in the tundra, where there are fewer irritating insects. It moves up to the patches of snow on hot summer days when there are large numbers of insects, before dropping down to feed in the valleys at night when it is cooler. During the winter, it migrates to the forested areas where it is easier to dig in the snow and where there is more reindeer lichen to feed on. Leaves of Willow The mountain reindeer lives in the mountains when there is no snow on the ground, and in coniferous forest during the winter. The forest reindeer lives in the forest region all year round. Reindeer have 4 chambered stomach. They mainly eat lichens in winter, especially reindeer moss. However, they also eat the leaves of willows and birches, sedges and grasses. On occasion they will eat lemmings, arctic char, and bird eggs. Reindeer moss Leaves of Birches Reindeer is same as deer but there are a bit of difference. Many of the female deer doesn't have antlers but most of reindeers (both male and female ) have a antlers Deer have a worldwide distribution except Australia and Antarctica, but reindeer stayed in arctic and subarctic regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. Lemmings Migration Arctic char Reindeer The forest reindeer also migrates between different areas during the year, but the distances it covers are not as long as those undertaken by the mountain reindeer. The forest reindeer uses open areas and boggy areas when there is no snow on the ground, and moves into dense fir forests when tormented by insects. During the winter, it feeds in the same areas as the mountain reindeer.

Reindeer

Transcript: Fur and vision Caribou are animals that come from a family of ruminants; this means they are mammals that eat mainly plant based food and fungus like lichen; lichen is a group of fungi witch the caribou eats and digests in a four chamber stomach. They are one of the only animals that break down lichen into glucose. Caribou are a native animal to Lapland. Lapland is a region spread from Russia to Norway, Sweden to Finland. All of these countries are either arctic or sub-arctic areas. There is a vast history of caribou spread out from across the years. Caribou are well known for pulling “Santa Clause’s” sleigh on Christmas. But besides that the caribou were also used by arctic people to pull pulk that had resources. People also had many use for caribou because of their ability to reproduce during the cold weather, this means that they could use them for milk, meat, hide, and their antlers. This would ensure the survival of people in the certain regions. Caribou are arctic and sub-arctic animals commonly known as reindeer. Diet… In 1823 there were eight famous caribou that pulled Santa’s sleigh named Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Blixem and Dunder. But in 1939 a man named Johnny marks made a song called Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer witch brought him to be “Santa’s” best reindeer. And all of these reindeer pull Santa’s sleigh across the sky on Christmas Eve. The reindeer Dunder was later changed to Dander than also changed to Donder. The reindeer Blixem also later turned into the reindeer bliksem like Dunder to Donder and Bliksem into the much well known Blitzen. These famous eight reindeer changed into nine reindeer by Johnny Marks. There is a great history of reindeer under Santa’s care. Famous caribou… There is two main groups of caribou called the “tundra group” and the “woodland group.” The tundra group has six sub-species whereas the woodland group has three sub-species. The colour of the fur varies considerably, both individually and depending on season and subspecies. Northern populations, which usually are relatively small, are whiter, while southern populations, which typically are relatively larger and darker. This can be seen well in North America, where the northernmost subspecies, the “Peary” caribou, is the whitest and smallest subspecies in the continent, while the southernmost subspecies, the Woodland Caribou, is the largest and darkest caribou of them all. The coat has two layers of fur: a dense woolly undercoat and longer-haired overcoat consisting of hollow, air-filled. Researchers from the University College London in 2011 conducted a study revealing that reindeer can see light with wavelengths as short as 320 nm, considerably below the human threshold of 400 nm. It is thought that this ability helps them to survive in the Arctic, because lots of objects that blend into the landscape in normally visible light, such as fur and urine produce sharp contrasts in ultraviolet. Reindeer Groups, species and sub-species… History...
