Science for Teachers Final

Transcript: Science Earth Science In science we learn how to identify the causes and effects of weather-related phenomena's. PHYSICAL SCIENCE We learn how Newton’s three laws of motion apply to real world situations. Life Science We need to learn the hierarchical relationships of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems Life Science We learn how two or more organs work together to perform a function.. Science for Teachers Final Exam Project Life Science In life science we learn to Identify human body systems We need to know when dangerous weather is approaching where we live so we can find a safe place to wait out the storm. If you farm you need to know how to predict the weather in order to know when to plant and grow your crops. If you are planning an outdoor event you have to know what the weather conditions for that day are so you can dress and prepare accordingly. This knowledge is important to the existence of all organisms. We have to know how things reproduce to save species from extinction. MR. Hanson's We learn how to mix different liquids, gases, and solids. We learn how to make things that we use every day of our life. We learn how to make Common solution products like: soaps, glues, paints, medicines, tea, etc… We need to know characteristics of Thunderstorms, tornadoes/ hurricanes/cyclones/ typhoons, Droughts, and acid precipitation. The better we understand these types of weather-related phenomena's the easier it will be to prevent the ones that can be prevented. Understanding these phenomena's help us to prepare safety shelters, to have evacuation plans. and relief strategies to protect people from the disasters these weather conditions can cause. photo credit Nasa / Goddard Space Flight Center / Reto Stöckli Understanding what's in the body and how it works is the basis of all medicine. We learn how the body works, how it is made up and how it can go wrong. We learn how to provide treatment that our bodies sometimes need to feel better, To understand the planet we live on. To improve our health, medicines, and environments. To understand the weather, space, plants, animals, and the human body. To improve on our technology, to create devices that make life easier. http://www.artistdirect.com/video/the-eruption-of-mount-st-helens/62563 We need to know these three laws apply to every object imaginable. We need to know that it takes force to move or stop the movement of every single object. Studying science gives us the understanding on how to create force with levers, pulley’s, and machines, to move and stop objects that are beyond human strength. Why we should learn science So that we do not completely drain a single source of energy. We learn that Using more than one resource helps to reserve the non- renewable resources. to help us identify the renewable and non-renewable resources. To help us understand what is the best resource to use to create energy. We learn to identify when the body or a part of it breaks down. You have to be familiar with your bodies systems to know when you are having: trouble breathing that this is due to a problem in your respiratory system, trouble eating your digestive system, if you had high blood pressure that this is a problem in your circulatory system. Learning about science helps us to understand what are some environmentally safe alternatives to producing energy other than the use of fossil fuel. Renewable Energy Because of the study of science. We know these alternatives are renewable and are safer for our environment. Learning Science is important Science Life Science We learn science to distinguish between sperm cells and egg cells. Earth Science We learn how to Predict weather conditions using data. We need to know what are the positive and negative effects of solar energy on the earth, on the different environments, and the atmosphere. We need to know if solar energy reflected from the earth’s surface causes any unsafe radiation in the atmosphere. Understanding the effects humans have on the atmosphere, may teach us how to slow down or stop global warming. We may learn how to prevent some of the dangerous weather conditions that happen on our planet. We may even learn how to protect the atmosphere that causes these storms, so that fewer dangerous storms happen. Seventh Grade Physical Science We need to learn how to Identify natural resources used to supply energy needs. Earth Science Students need to study science so they can Identify and explain the effects that human activities have on weather and the atmosphere. Earth Science Its important to know the effects of solar energy on the atmosphere. For Teachers William Turner To find out more things about our world and the things that live in it. We learn that everything is connected in life. To get a better understanding of the structures of all living things. Everything relates to science. Studying science is how we know about our world. Science explains how things evolved and how they work. Understanding

Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.

Video Creation Resources Creating cartoons and comic strips can be a good way to get reluctant writers writing. While creating comics you and your students can work through the elements of fiction in a context that is fun and familiar to them. "Witty Comics" provides a simple platform that students can use to create two character dialogues. To use Witty Comics students just need to select the pre-drawn background scenes and the pre-drawn characters they want to feature in their comics. Writing the dialogues is the creative element that is left to the students.
