Flyer Free ND
Transcript: CAMPAIGN TACTICS WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? Why can't we just use recycled paper? How does paper harm the environment? There are already 4 paperless offices on campus! By: Iliana, Erin, Maggie, Mike FLYER FREE ND - Beginning with the 4 of us, any and all students who want to help us in our fight - Partnerships and coalitions with already established organizations like greeND and the Office of Sustainability - A social media chair to update and organize all club events - An Environmental Sustainability Professor to advise More support on our side will add pressure on power holders (College of Arts and Letters) and help raise awareness throughout campus (both student body and faculty) - Meeting with Fr. Jenkins and the Dean of Arts and Letters to present our petition, statistics, offices on campus that are already paper free, and the show of support we have received on campus - Send emails to groups/clubs on campus explaining our campaign and asking for support/instructions to send announcements to social media platforms How We Expect Our Campaign to Win Rally and Walk Over: - Taking place on North and South Quads: music, entertainment, speeches - We will ask local food trucks to provide food for the event - We will have our petition to continue garnering support and signatures - At the end of the rallies, everyone will walk over to dome and stand in solidarity to show our support base FORMAL STATEMENTS ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY - A stage, performers, sound system, food trucks - Ipads/laptops to sign people up for our petition - Chalk for sidewalk stats - An email List of alumni and clubs/groups on campus - Sponsorships/donations from students and alumni This tactic gets people talking about the issue, garners support from students, and promotes viable changes to the flyer/paper problem NEEDED RESOURCES Objectives - Eliminating the excessive waste of paper that goes into the development of flyers hung up along the walls of 4 floors in a building not all students visit on a regular basis - Partner with greeND and the Office of Sustainability on campus, and environmental organizations in South Bend - Once O’Shag is flyer free, expanding our campaign to include flyers (and other paper waste) throughout the rest of campus: dorms, dining halls, etc. #FlyerFreeND STAGES OF CAMPAIGN ACTIVITY Public Assemblies Processions Drama and Music - Sidewalk Stats - Notre Dame / ND Admissions Instagram/Twitter/Facebook to promote our new platforms - Reaching out to alumni clubs for monetary support In this hypothetical campaign, we plan to rid O'Shaughnessy Hall of the flyers that plaster the halls of four floors. 1.
