Transcript: The most common trap is the P trap. Its is the addition of a 90 degree fitting on the outlet side of a U bend thereby creating the P shape. They are mostly found underneath a sink. S trap drains havent been used in decades and have been replaced by the P trap drain. The main point for these traps are to hold water to prevent sewer gases from getting in. Types of pipes that are common in a plumbers use would be a plastic pipes, metal pipes and copper pipes. In the old days plumbers used to use led pipes but they stopped because led would come off the pipes and into the water running through them. Safety hazards that you can find while using these pipes are leaking pipes. If a pipe is leaking it can cause a big mess and can possibly flood your house. Also if sewer gases do get into your pipes and your pipes are leaking it can smell terrible. plumbing pipes are most commonly made by a heating a cooling process. Sometimes even made from scrap metal. Metal and copper are heated up so that they are easier to shape and form into a pipe. Plastic pipes are more or less cut into pipes. bibliography Google.ca Youtube.com Yahoo.ca JayTech.com Plumbing.com A venting system is found mostly in your sink and toilet. Having a vent makes the water drain fast, helps the traps to prevent and sewer smell in your house, and if the drain makes a gurgling noise the venting systems prevents that. By: Francesco Aiuto and Dante Borrelli P traps and S traps installation how they are made Water supply is engineered hydrologic and highraulic components which provide clean water supply to your home. The drainage system is a big part about living in a urban area. It reduces the amounts of flood damage by carrying water away from your home. venting All pipes must be put in a certain way for the drainage system to work correctly. Most pipes are put in with plumbing screws and copper wireing. Tools used to put in pipes would be an adjustable wrech, plyers, wire cutters, drill, hammer etc..... Transcript: RESPONSIBILITIES WHAT SKILLS AND PERSONALITY TRAITS DO YOU NEED WHAT SCHOOLS OFFER THIS PROGRAM Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning offers an plumbing apprenticeship. Also at George Brown College, you can take a plumbing techniques program. HOW WILL I PAY FOR MY EDUCATION? I will most likely apply for OSAP, but I will hopefully have a job and i could pay for some of my tuition that way. Being a plumber, you will make about $37,000 to $52,000 per year, while salaries for highly experienced plumbers range from $54,000 to $72,000. To be a Plumber, you usually go around to peoples houses to fix any plumbing issues that they might have. This means that you should be very friendly and also very approachable. Some basic skills that you should also have are smart, quick thinking and also patient because many problems will take up a lot of time to fix. IS THE FIELD GROWING OR DECLINING? There are many duties involved with being a plumber but some examples are. Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks. Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures. WHICH COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY I WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND I also would not like to work in an office because I like to do things myself and get things done WHAT I HAVE LEARNED PLUMBING By: Joseph Gallo Being a plumber would be a suitable career choice for me because I am quick thinking and I am good at working and completing tasks with my hands SALARY The field seems to be growing because in this day in age, there are houses and condos being built everywhere. All of those houses need indoor plumbing and they call some big companies to run pipes throughout the homes. COST OF MY EDUCATION Humber College would probably be the best option for me because many of their campuses are close to my house. On the other hand, George Brown can also be a good place for me to go because it is a well known school in Toronto and I know that they have a baseball team. To enter a plumbing apprenticeship at Humber College it would cost 450$ while tuition at George Brown College for a plumbing techniques program will cost $4,156.00 WHY IS THIS SUITABLE FOR ME Throughout this entire process I have learned a lot about being a plumber, such as How much they make How much it costs to enroll in a plumbing program It is something that I might want to do some day.

Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.

Transcript: Sometimes piping diagrams are unnecessary.Symbols on the plan drawings locate fixtures. The plumber installs the system in accordance with the specification and local building codes. Larger construction jobs have complete plumbing drawing showing the supply and sewage piping. Piping layouts for commercial buildings can be shown on plan and elevation views, but often an isometric drawing of the system is provided. Symbols are used to represent plumbing fixtures on drawings, Symbols also represent other plumbing equipment , such as valves and fittings. Plumbers must coordinate their work assignments with other craftspeople, because plumbing takes place on three different stages of construction. Fixtures Plumbing The final stage of the plumber's work is the finish plumbing, which includes the installation and connection of all fixtures after the walls and floors are finished. The plumbing specifications should be read carefully before the job is started, these specification detail the work including on the plumbing contract, piping materials, fixtures, and test to be performed on the system. Designated as an American National Standard, the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) is a model code developed by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to govern the installation and inspection of plumbing systems as a means of promoting the public's health, safety and welfare. Building code provisions include the kind and sizes of pipe used, location of traps and clean-outs, plumbing fixtures requirements, venting provision, and connection to water supply and sewer lines. The rough-in-plumbing includes installing water supply pipes and sewage drain pipes. Performed before the slab is poured in, on slab-on-grade construction and before wall-covering materials are placed on the wall framing. It includes all the piping and fittings that supply and distributes the water through building. It also includes all of the control valves and fixtures. work cited Stage 1 Piping and Fittings There are two basic types of copper tubing, soft copper and rigid copper. Copper tubing is joined using treated connections, compression connection, or solder. Copper offers a high level of corrosion resistance, but is very costly. Copper piping should not be embedded in concrete slabs, masonry wall, or footings, due to the movement due to expansion of the copper. The most common type of piping and the most used on plumbing. Three most common types are; acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) polybutylene chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) resist corrosion even if buried underground or in a concrete slab. plastic costs less to produce than copper and other metals. Plastic pipes are also less expensive to transport because they weigh significantly less than metal pipes. Is also known as the drain/waste/vent (DWV) system It includes waste stack, a vent, a trap for each fixture. the waste stack carries the waste materials to the building drain, which connects to the building sewer line. The installation of DWV systems is carefully controlled by plumbing codes to prevent contamination of the water supply and to keep sewer gases from entering the building. Plastic pipe In most residences and light commercial buildings, plumbing consists of the water distribution system, sewage disposal system, and piping needed for heating and cooling systems. Specification and codes A plumbing fixture is an exchangeable device which can be connected to an existing plumbing system to deliver and drain away water but which is also configured to enable a particular use, such as; water heaters sinks water closets hose bibbs, etc Water Distribution System Copper pipe The main line is the primary supply line from the municipal water meter (or other source of supply) to the building. The distribution pipes are the ones that deliver supply water to the plumbing fixtures. Piping material used for water distribution include copper, brass, and plastic. Sewage Disposal System Stage 3 we can find plumbing on a construction projects in many different ways. The water distribution system. The sewage disposal system. Gas and fuel system. Pool systems. Irrigation systems. Provision for the service entrance of the water supply and the sewer drain to the building are made prior to the pouring of the foundation Stage 2 Brown, Walter C., and Daniel P.
