Transcript: 05/06/2019 Birth of Jesus Introduction 1 Mary and Joseph , Jesus mother and Mary's husband, had traveled to Bethlehem, because of an order from the Roman emperor. The next day on August 21, 7 B.C in the afternoon, Mary had given birth to Jesus, and put baby Jesus in an animal trough known as a manger. An angel that was watching over them told some shepherd the good news of the birth of the savior and the messiah, Jesus Christ. the shepherds went to spread the good news. Three wise men, saw a bright start in the sky that was resting over where Jesus was born. they traveled from a far eastern country to find baby Jesus their new king. 2 In the verse Luke 2:1-4 describes Mary and Joseph stayed in Bethlehem in Judea. Bethlehem is know as the City of David, and the House of Bread. Jesus birth took place during a roman census. When Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem, all the inn's were fully booked. They finally found a inn that was also booked, but the innkeeper offered them a place to stay in his stable. This stable was where the innkeeper kept all of his animals. In the stable was hay, sheep, camels, donkeys, horses, and the food for the animals. Jesus was wearing a white swaddling cloth with a long cloth strips. After the birth of Jesus, god sent the angel Gabriel to announce the birth of Jesus. the three wise men were also there to witness the birth as well. The last thing that was a context in this story was the bright star that shinned so bright, and also can be seen from a far eastern country, where the wise men traveled from. #1 #2 #3 Luke 2:1-3 New International Version (NIV) The Birth of Jesus 2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register. 3 The birth of Jesus is talked about in churches, on television, in politics, in the bible, throughout the world. The people of America talk about it on a daily because this was a major event that happened, whether of you believe it or not. The bible is the best sold book in America, and the main verse people read about is the birth of Jesus. This event bring families together in prayer, fellowship, to the churches, to do good, and want to repent. Also it brings people, love, joy and peace, the wanting to change and to be reborn again. This event is shaping science, to do research about that day and to evidence if it really happened or not. Politicians talk about the birth of Jesus, and shape the way they answer questions in their arguments. 4 Jesus shaped every individual he talked to. He gave hope to the blind, by healing him in verse John 9. Jesus shaped the women of Nazareth, like the women with the issue of blood, and the prostitute who thought she could never be forgiven. also Jesus shaped the broken by sitting humbling and talking to them, and not judging them. The miracles shaped shaped the culture by the people of Nazareth believing his is the messiah and the savior, who is going to save them from sin. when the people of Nazareth would sit in the synagogue with Jesus, the pharisees would come and argue with Jesus, and he would response back with patience, love, kindness, and parables. i believe this was teaching the people of Nazareth to listen without arguing. the birth of Jesus shaped many, gave hope to those who were broken, and also needed guidance Where Jesus was born 5 6 The birth of Jesus is talked about in churches, on television, in politics, in the bible, throughout the world. Transcript: Birth of Jesus This coming December 25th while most parents will be lying to their children about old St. Nick, some of us will be celebrating the birth of our Savior. At first Mary was afraid and troubled by the angel's words. Being a virgin, Mary questioned the angel, "How will this be?" The angel explained that the child would be God's own Son and, therefore, "nothing is impossible with God." When Joseph woke from his dream, he willingly obeyed God and took Mary home to be his wife, in spite of the public humiliation he would face. Perhaps this noble quality is one of the reasons God chose him to be the Messiah's earthly father. When Joseph and Mary got to Bethlehem, there was no place for them to stay because the inn was already full. They ended up spending the night in a stable, a place where animals were kept. That night, Jesus was born. There was no crib, so they laid baby Jesus in a manger, a feeding trough for animals. The manger probably had fresh hay in it and made a nice bed for the baby. Nearby there was a group of shepherds. An angel appeared to them and announced to them the birth of Jesus Christ. The angel said, “Do not be afraid. I bring you great news. Today was born a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”, and the angel showed the shepherds where the newborn baby was. The shepherds rushed to the stable to see the newborn baby. After seeing Him, the shepherds left the stable. They praised God and told everybody what they saw on this first Christmas morning. Joseph and Mary went to Jerusalem to present baby Jesus to God in the Temple. As they were there, they were approached by an old man, who was known to be always watching and praying for the coming of the Messiah. The old man whose name was Simeon, took baby Jesus in his arms. As he looked at the baby’s face he knew at once that his prayers were answered. King Herod ordered the three wise men to go to Bethlehem and bring him baby Jesus, King of the Jews. “Go to Bethlehem and bring me the child so that I can also worship him”. King Herod’s intention was however not to worship but to kill baby Jesus. The wise men continued on to Bethlehem and followed the star until it was directly above the house where Jesus was. They found Mary and Jesus in the house and knelt down to worship Him. They brought Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh After visiting Jesus, the wise men had a dream that warned them not to go back to King Herod, so they took a different route home.Herod was furious when he realized the wise men had not come back to tell him where to find Jesus. He sent his soldiers to Bethlehem to kill all the children under two years old, thinking Jesus would certainly be one of the ones killed. But God had told Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt. Joseph took Mary and Jesus to live in Egypt where they would be safe from Herod. Joseph, Mary and Jesus stayed in Egypt until Herod had died, and then they returned to Nazareth. "The most important part about Christmas is the first six letters." "Take Christ out of Christmas, and December becomes the bleakest and most colorless month of the year." "When we ask our children 'What do you want for Christmas?', we are asking a question that breeds selfishness. In order to develop selflessness we should be asking 'What are you going to give?' Christmas is the celebration of God's great gift giving - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Transcript: While Jesus and his disciples were in a boat crossing a lake (possibly the Sea of Galilee), a storm frightened his disciples while Jesus slept. They awoke Jesus, fearful that the storm would harm them. Jesus then miraculously calmed the storm. Birth Of Jesus Bethlehem lies 10 kilometers south of the city of Jerusalem, in the fertile limestone hill country of the Holy Land. Since at least the 2Nd century AD people have believed that the place where the Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem, now stands is where Jesus was born. Miracles Of Jesus Christ Miraculous Healing of many sick and diseased At Capernaum there was an official whose son was very ill. When he heard that Jesus had left Judea and had arrived in Galilee, he went off to see him and begged him to come down and heal his son, who was by this time at the point of death. The Middle East seems to bring the world a constant stream of bad news. Bible prophecy shows that this bad news will continue until Jesus Christ's return. But once the world survives "Armageddon" in the Middle East, a time of good news will follow. Jerusalem will then live up to its name: "City of Peace." A Millennium of peace and prosperity is coming, under the rulership of the Messiah. As King of kings, Jesus Christ will rule the earth from Jerusalem with justice and righteousness, and all nations on earth will learn a new way of life—the way to peace. That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?" Christ Miraculously Calms the Storm Sincere Williams And it came to pass that after he had ascended into heaven—the second time that he showed himself unto them, and had gone unto the Father, after having healed all their sick, and their lame, and opened the eyes of their blind and unstopped the ears of the deaf, and even had done all manner of cures among them, and raised a man from the dead, and had shown forth his power unto them, and had ascended unto the Father. 3 Nephi 26:15 Jesus Christ journey “So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:53-54 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about : His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
