In the Philippines, women are being treated better in politics than most countries but there are still some barriers where the gender gap is seen. Women weren't even able to vote back then, but with the efforts and sacrifices of people standing for women's rights, women can even run for governmental positions. On Women's Suffrage When did it start? When did it start? "On September 17, 1937 women's suffrage was legalized in the Philippines, after the required threshold for the plebiscite of 300,000 was surpassed. 447,725 women affirmed their aspiration to vote, against 33,307 no votes. The Philippines was one of the first Asian countries to allow this right for women." Josefa Llanes Escoda Josefa Llanes Escoda Also known as the "Florence Nightingale of the Philippines," Josefa played a huge role in acheiving women's suffrage in the Philippines as the secretary of the General Council of Women which was created to coordinate the activities of the women suffrage workers. Josefa’s efforts was rewarded when Act 4112 was approved on December 7, 1933, granting the right to vote to Filipino women and making them eligible to all public offices. Josefa is but one of many heroes that sacrificed a lot for the benefit that we experience today which is women's suffrage. The problems seen in the Philippines are the same as the problems seen elsewhere with politics and these problems root from the unequality between genders. Problems of women in politics Additional unnecessary scrutiny on their private lives Personality traits playing a big part in their run for a public office Being judged based on what they wear more than men Relationship "status" playing a big part in publicity For Example... For Example... Conclusion: There should be no gender hierarchy. Women deserve the same respect men are given because respect is earned not something you get biologically. Let’s not judge a person’s capabilities based on their gender. Give credit where credit is due regardless of gender. In all of the great men in history, what people don’t realize is that behind their achievements are women that support them as they strive for greatness. Ms. Aldaba-Lim became was the first woman to become Special Ambassador to the United Nations, with the rank of assistant secretary general during the UNICEF—UNESCO International Year of the Child in 1979. Key metrics to be evaluated: operating expenses, sales amount and ROI Market research budget: 50,000 USD Analytics research needs to be carried out to determine the likelihood of the response if we launch our bikes or scooters. Why go through all the trouble to find or either pack away all your brushes when you can have access to your own all in one make-up brush that always supplies you with variety of different sizes and thickness in one case, it benefits you from losing your brushes and packing them away.
