Transcript: Cute But Suffering Ela Sırmahan Turan 10/A Many animals in the world have to spend their lives in pain due to the curiosity of breed animals. A market full of torture is created because they are bred to attract people with their cute and different physical features, but without paying attention to the fact that they have acquired these features as a result of genetic deformation. How ? How The appearance of many pets has been genetically manipulated to suit the human eye, and cats and dogs, which almost all of us will prefer, are of course in the first place. I will try to explain to you what I mean with many examples. CATS CATS Scottish Fold This cat breed is one of the most preferred cat breeds as it looks very cute with its curled ears, but this ear curl is due to the lack of cartilage in the ear. The curling of this cat's ears is caused by a genetic mutation that disrupts not only the ear cartilage but also bone development in other joints in its body, causing severe bone and cartilage anomalies. Scottish folds may suffer from osteoarthritis, a severe and painful joint disease, throughout their lives. Scottish Fold Persian Cats There is increasing evidence showing that cats who have been bred to have exaggerated physical features (such as flat faces) suffer from significant health problems that lead to lifelong suffering. Some of these health problems include, for example, difficulty breathing, eye and skin problems, dental problems and trouble eating. Persian Munchkin Cats Munchkin cats have a genetic mutation causing a defect in the formation of cartilage causing them to have shortened limbs; this is the signature feature of the cat breed. This abnormality is associated with painful osteoarthritis. Munchkin Sphynx Cat -Sunburn -Inability to protect from the cold -Skin diseases -Heart muscle diseases -Deaths due to infant blood disease are due to a genetic mutation in this hairless cat breed. Sphynx DOGS DOGS Bull Terriers Bull Terriers When it comes to the change of dog breeds, one of the species that has experienced the greatest change is the bull terrier. Over the years, this species has shortened its legs and muscled its body, its jaw and nose have expanded, and over time they have become aggressive. Pugs Unfortunately, the noses of the pugs, which remained almost the same size, were a little flatter and their eyes were enlarged. This situation invites various health problems such as shortness of breath. Pugs Dachsund This breed is the most prone to intervertebral disc disease of all dog breeds. These problems even go as far as paralysis. Dachsund Some scientists in China have doubled the muscle weight by changing certain genes in this dog. In this picture it was the first day of my senior year, I made a shirt to show my spirit for my senior year,followed by a pair of jeans that I had for a while followed by a pair of adidas. It wasn't much but it stood out. In that picture I wore a white and black shirt with burgundy jeggings and black sandals. It thought if I was to wear black jeans it wouldn't stand out that much. In this picture I am wearing a black polo shirt with black pants, and an apron with a hat and slip resistant shoes. This is how I dress when I go to work.Neatly in my uniform as I should be. Cold rainy day Nya House Meeting the Whole family In this picture it was my birthday, and I wanted to stand out. So I wore a long maxi sun dress with a little black jacket because it was alittle chilly out. I wore a pair of nude wedges with my crown and sash. I stood out but it wasn't too much for school. On this day it was really muddy and chilly so I decided to wear a black dressed up sheer shirt, with some jeans and my rainboots. It wasn't matchy matchy but it went together.
