Transcript: Table of contents All slides are labeled in order of the rubric. Introduction Fastenal is an industrial business which supplies hardware and tools which can be used for about any job. The company take quality good first and gets them into the hands of many hard working americans. I personally know several people who work at Fastenal and have used good from there on many occasions. It is located throughout North and South America and several other international countries. Over the company's history it has showed to be a very reliable investment by continuing to expand and become a more successful business. Fastenal has now expanded large enough where they have their own self sponsored racing team and compete in a nearly world wide market. Company Products Fastenal offers a wide range of items from hardware to tools as a bulk or to the individual. They use Quality products which remain at the top of the market which benefits their customers and their investors. They are a huge contributor to the construction and manufacturing industries because of much hardware made. Business sector Top Competition W.W. Grainger, Inc. MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. HD Supply, Inc. These three companies listed above all supply similar materials such as hardware and tools, however they do not have the same market availability as Fastenal. Fastenal has over 1.2 million products available in all 50 states and several other countries which surpasses all the competition. Fastenal happens to have a majority over the market of hardware in tools. Financial Status Fastenal has split one time in the last 5 years and that was in May of 2011 putting 803.4k shares on the table. Brokers say that Fastenal may not be able to maintain such a rapid growth, but it remains to be one of the best semi-short term investments on the market today. MSC which is Fastenal's top competitor took a very large hit from the threat of the fiscal cliff going over. Fastenal is growing at such a significant rate MSC is having trouble keeping up. It has been found that the small competition such as hometown stores are what really separates the two companies. Both MSC and Fastenal remain very competitive and a stable stock to invest in. Over the past 10 years both companies have shown huge growth without many declines. Over the last 5 years Fastenal has seen a nearly 160% increase which tells me it will continue to grow. This type of industry seems to be growing at a quite rapid rate which is saying there is opportunities for money to be made for an investor. Overall, even if competition increases among GM and VW, foreign companies in China will lead the market place, despite efforts to give domestic companies a competitive edge. Regulations can not make up for the fact that domestic companies aren't producing new and fresh products. This is the main reason VW is ahead of GM because the American company lacked new models. VW is also investing about 25 billion dollars compared to the quite modest investments from GM in China.
