Tech 7 10/11/12 Deborah Read Accomplishments Franklin was the 8th child of his father's second wife (number 15 out of 17 total). He married Deborah Read, and together they had three children, although only two of them survived to adulthood. King Louis XVI Benjamin Franklin's lifespan of covered almost all of the 18th century. He was in his 50's and 60's when America was fighting for independence. People like George Washington, Thomas Jerfferson, and Samuel and John Adams were significant figures of the time. King George III of England and King Louis XVI of France also played significant roles in during the Revlotion. Family Benjamin Franklin died on April 17, 1790. Although Franklin had many accomplishments, there area few that stand out more than others. Before the war, he helped to repeal the Stamp Act. He was also an ambassador to France during the American Revolution and helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris, which ended the war with Britain. Ben Franklin was a printer, inventor, and scientist. In 1729, he began printing The Pennsylvania Gazette with Hugh Meredith. Some obstacles that Ben overcame was that he was pulled out of school as a child by his father so that he could go work at his tempermental brother's newspaper shop.
