Tech 7 10/11/12 Deborah Read Accomplishments Franklin was the 8th child of his father's second wife (number 15 out of 17 total). He married Deborah Read, and together they had three children, although only two of them survived to adulthood. King Louis XVI Benjamin Franklin's lifespan of covered almost all of the 18th century. He was in his 50's and 60's when America was fighting for independence. People like George Washington, Thomas Jerfferson, and Samuel and John Adams were significant figures of the time. King George III of England and King Louis XVI of France also played significant roles in during the Revlotion. Family Benjamin Franklin died on April 17, 1790. Although Franklin had many accomplishments, there area few that stand out more than others. Before the war, he helped to repeal the Stamp Act. He was also an ambassador to France during the American Revolution and helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris, which ended the war with Britain. Ben Franklin was a printer, inventor, and scientist. In 1729, he began printing The Pennsylvania Gazette with Hugh Meredith. Transcript: Benjamin Franklin Franklin earned the title of "Th First American" for his early and indefatigable campaing for colonia unity; as an author and spokesman in London for several colonies, then as the first United States Ambassador to France, he exemplified the emerging American nation. After the death of his wife Deborah, the elderly Ben lived with his daughter Sarah's family. Sarah nursed him as his health weakened. Finally, Benjamin died peacefully in his sleep on April 1790. He was 84 years old. He signed the constitution Benjamin Franklin was one of the Foundin Fathers of The United States. A noted polymath, Franklin was leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, postmaster, scientist, musician, inventor, satirist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat. He is in the one hundred dollar bill.

Some obstacles that Ben overcame was that he was pulled out of school as a child by his father so that he could go work at his tempermental brother's newspaper shop. His father did it because he said the family needed money. He has serious gall stone problems He spent most of his life away from his family- he spent most of his time in France. Some things that shaped Benjamin Franklin's life was when he started writing songs for his brother's newspaper. He then wanted to help his other brother heal so that's when he created the catheter, which is still used today. 3 adjectives that describe Benjamin Franklin Intelligent- He is intelligent because, he was always trying to find a way to invent new helpful objects. Thoughtful- Franklin is thoughtful because, he created the catheter to help his sick brother. He created contact lenses becuase, he was tired of taking his glasses on and off. Adventerous- Ben is adventerous because, he was always thriving to improve. Benjamin Franklin and his positive out look Ben Fanklin has a positive effect on America. He had a positive effect because, still today we use many of his inventions such as; contact lenses, bifocal lenses, day light savings time, flexable catheter, the long arm, odometer, glass Armonica, swim fins, lightening rod, etc. Benjamin Fanklin was special because, he created contact lenses, bifocal lenses, and many other devices that we still use today.
