Transcript: Seeds Before Flowers Rubrics The Big Picture Rubistar For the Students: NETS-S 4. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making *Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources. • California Content Standard: US11.6 *Students analyze the different explanations for the Great Depression and how the New Deal fundamentally changed the role of the federal government. • ELA Reading Standard for Literacy in History/Social Science in Grades 6-12 *Cite specific textual evidence to support analysis of primary and secondary sources, connecting insights gained from specific details to understanding of the text as a whole Assessment *Prezi --The teacher will introduce the topic, the assignment, demonstrate the various forms of technology used *Thinkfinity --This database provides an article for the introduction of New Deal Politics *Rubistar --The teacher will create rubrics for the paper, blog entries, and the political cartoon. *The students will engage in a classroom blog where they will reflect on their learning and their ability to use technology in the assignment. Students will be given topics for each blog entry that will reflect on the use of technological resources, how to read primary sources, and understanding of key concepts. The teacher can then evaluate which students are struggling and assist them. This lesson is designed for an eleventh grade U.S. History class. The three steps of the lesson include the instructor introducing the topic of New Deal politics, student research and reflection, and the completion of a research paper and supplemental activity. As the teacher introduces the topic there will also be a discussion about the standards, expectations, and skills that need to be addressed before the research paper is written. The students will then use a variety of resources that will enrich the content while also teaching practical technology and research skills. Students will be asked to analyze primary and secondary sources and write a paper that discusses the role of the Federal Government as a result of New Deal politics. As the students go through the research and writing process blog entries will be used for checking for understanding and reflection. Students will then create a political cartoon that visually represents their research. The Influence of New Deal Politics Bloom's Taxonomy & Learning Objectives *The teacher will create three rubrics that explain the criteria of the paper, blog entries, and political cartoon. Rubric Example: New Deal Research Paper A Trunk Full of Technology Apples For the Teacher: Sowing the Seeds of a Technology Integrated Lesson Plan Evaluating Blog Entries Deep Roots: Building A Firm Foundation *Everything is connected. We want our students to see how technology can enrich their experience inside and outside of the classroom. Providing technology and research skills allows students to produce excellent work the same way a tree produces good fruit when it receives the right nutrients. *Students should have a clear understanding of the how the New Deal changed role of the federal government, how to correctly cite primary and secondary sources, and how to use critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making in research. *National Archive: Docs Teach --This archive will serve as the tool through which students will find their primary and secondary sources. The teacher will demonstrate how to properly search for appropriate content. *Pixton Comics --This tool wil be used by students to create a political cartoon as a visual representation of their paper. The teacher will show the video (on the right) as an introduction to the new form of technology. *Edublog --This site allows students to reflect on their experience with technology and the subject matter. The teacher can then use this tool to evaluate students' progress. What makes it grow? Standards and Expectations *Students will be able to understand concepts presented in primary sources through interpreting information and constructing a research paper that reflects their knowledge. *Students will be able to evaluate their learning process through self-reflection in a class blog as they complete the assignment. *Students will be able to create by designing a cartoon that visually represents their research.

Transcript: Gatsby and his friends in the movie were very rich and sophisticated. They did rich people things like have tea parties, and ate dinner at each others mansions. They dressed very nice, always sharp and elegant. There was never a time that they were looking bummish or ugly. Review Polo is a team sport played on horseback and was one of the sports played a lot in the "roaring twenties". The objective of the the game is to score goals against the opposing team. Players score by driving a small white plastic or wooden ball into the opposing team's goal using a long-handled mallet. The sport Polo was played in the movie "The Great Gatsby". I don't think the movie got into the Tom & Myrtle affair like the book did. I think they should of really established it that it was george's wife. I really didn't even figure it out until i actually saw myrtle in george's house The Great Gatsby Movie I think the movie was suspenseful enough. It indeed kept my attention, and also it made me think about the book. The movie gave me a nice depiction of what i read in the novel "The Great Gatsby". It was exciting to see how people can just rekindle their love from the past just in the blink of an eye. No legacy is so rich as honesty. Characters Americans in the 1920s being rich was more common, so they dressed really high and fancy most of the time. They acted like one self should carry themself (in an orderly manner). People would do things they should be doing like eating properly and holding the door for a lady or being respectful to an adult. In some Expandable Banners, the video is hidden behind the expanding panel. A good practice here would be to have a light preview video visible at first glance to invite users to expand the panel and view the full video. Bespoke Interactive ads that attract users to touch and play with them will generate interest, and ultimately a higher Conversion Rate. As with video banners, ads that make an effort to be seen typically get higher engagement from users. “At the end of the day, every brand is trying to form a relationship with the consumer as quickly and deeply as it can.
