Carly was placed third in Canadian idol season on the 5th season of the competition, and she was part of the Canadian idol Top 3 concert tour.
She debuted on the pop music scene with Tug of War, an album including the two famous singles, "Bucket" and "Tug of War".
Carly released a music video for "Tug of War" and then later for "Bucket".
Then, she toured the Canada with various artists.
In February her second album "Curiosity". Call Me Maybe become the first song by a canadian artist to reach the top of the digital chart since Justin Bieber released "Baby"in January (2010).
She performed in the Believe Tour of Justin Bieber and then later made
"Kiss Summer Tour".

Jepsen began recording material for her sophomore album in 2011 with the previous collaborators Josh Ramsay and Ryan Stewart. One of those songs, "Call Me Maybe", was chosen as the first single was released in Canada on September 21st, 2011.
In June, Jepsen's duet with Owl City, "Good Time".
In August Jepsen announced that her second album "Kiss" would be released on September. She premied her song "This Kiss".
Carly was sued for copyright infringement for the song "Good Time" as it resembled a song by Allyson Nichole Burnett.
