Why did Malcolm X leave the Nation of Islam?
By: Tristan Steele and Isaac McKee
There is not an actual reason that anyone but him knows, he spoke many different things about the subject but never actually addressed it.
In an interview in 1965, he said, "I realized racism isn't just a black and white problem. It's brought bloodbaths to about every nation on earth at one time or another. Brother, remember the time that white college girl came into the restaurant the one who wanted to help the Muslims and the whites get together and I told her there wasn't a ghost of a chance and she went away crying? Well, I've lived to regret that incident. In many parts of the African continent I saw white students helping black people. Something like this kills a lot of argument. I did many things as a Muslim that I'm sorry for now. I was a zombie then like all Muslims, I was hypnotized, pointed in a certain direction and told to march. Well, I guess a man's entitled to make a fool of himself if he's ready to pay the cost. It cost me 12 years. That was a bad scene, brother. The sickness and madness of those days — I'm glad to be free of them."

Quote Summarized
He is basically saying when he was in the Nation of Islam he was being pointed the wrong way, he took commands and followed them and didn't see that everything would of been better if everyone united together.
Malcolm also says in an interview that a reason was that he left the nation of islam was because he had found out that Elijah Muhammad's was the father of 8 children by 6 different teenage girls that were his private secretaries. The Nation of Islam was scared that if Elijah's followers were notified of this they would look down and try to follow Malcolm instead so they had tried to assassinate him and had failed.
Malcolm also spoke on an conspiracy between the KKK and Lincoln Rockwell Nazi's. He said that the Klu Klux Klan were trying to make a deal to make available to Elijah In 1960 in Philadelphia. He was trying to make available land to the Nation of Islam in Georgia where blacks could migrate and make in appear that the program of a segregated state would look like it had been working. Then after that the Minister was able to walk any part he could in that state without being harrassed by the KKK neither would any other black Muslims, as they wouldn't mess with them either
Elijah Muhammad's teachings
He said another time that If Elijah had wanted to he could of united them with the muslim world just by teaching the right religion of Islam and now the Muslim world rejects him and all of his followers. He also states he is a racist
