Krakatoa and Volcano Hazards
Main Idea

The 1883 eruption of Krakatoa killed over 36,000 people and had many other effects on the world.
Information About Krakatoa:

Krakatoa is an active volcano and in motion almost 24/7. After blowing itself up it it created itself again and is currently standing at 813 meters it grows 12 feet per day. It is a level 6 volcano that is sometimes quiet and sometimes gets violent. It is a stratovolcano located in the ring of fire which a dangerous circle of active volcanoes.

The combination of pyroclastic flows, volcanic ashes and tsunamis had disastrous results in the region. There were no survivors from the 3,000 people located on the island of Sebesi, about 8 miles from Krakatoa. Pyroclastic flows killed around 1,000 people at Ketimbang on the coast of Sumatra some 25 miles north from Krakatoa. The official death toll recorded by the Dutch authorities was 36,417, although some sources put the estimate at 120,000 or more.
Its impact on the people of the world

It caused vulcanologist to study the volcano more in order to learn more about it and to warn the community if such an eruption were to ever happen again. It also was a significant impact because it killed many people and injured many others.

that are created by volcanoes and typically flow down river valleys.
<--- Volcanic Bombs are practically solid magma or stone that flies out of a volcano when the volcano erupts.
<--- Pyroclastic flows, a dangerous and destructive force of hot steam and rock that destroy humans instantaneously on impact.
<--- Tsunamis are big, powerful waves that that impact with a great force destroying everything in it's path.
After an eruption the climate of the are surrounding the volcano is impacted greatly.When the ash shoots into the sky it covers the sun and causes the air to cool for many days. It could also cause greenhouse effects and the dangerous effects of ozone that which can damage cellular DNA.
Problems of volcanoes and Earthquakes:
Some earthquakes may cause liquefaction which can liquify the ground.If this happens then bridges and buildings' foundation which can cause them to topple.
How to Prevent Danger
From Volcanoes:
•Do not live in the shadow of a volcano
•Plug up chimneys and other small openings
•Change into long sleeved shirt and long pants
•Stay in your house
From Earthquakes:
•Secure stuff
•Make a plan
•Make disaster kits
•Is your place safe?
•Make sure everyone is safe
•Communicate and recover
