Transcript of Julissa's Prezi On Fractions

Let's start with adding fractions Now lets start multiplying and dividing fractions First lets start with multiplying fractions.I will do an example then show you the steps. Now I will show you the steps to multiplying fractions. Now finally let's finish our lesson with dividing fractions. Here we go.First i will show you an example then show you the steps. Now that you know how to add fractions.Lets start with subtracting fractions. Here is an example on how to subtract a fraction. Here is another fraction to add, but this time it will not have the same denominator Now I bet you are wondering how do I do this fraction well its simple all you need to do is find a multiple that adds up to one of the denominator. Then you just add across. Here is one example. Adding fractions is easy all you need to do is add across. Here is an example This is a fraction To do a fraction you need to know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide This is not a fraction First lets start with the basics 3 7 Subtracting a fraction is easy all you need to do is the same as adding a fraction.Just Subtract across and if you don't have the same denominator then you just do what we did for adding fractions. All you do is multiply across, even if it does not have the same denominator. That's right nothing even if you don't have the same denominators you still multiply across. Learning Fractions _ 5 8 _ 5 = 11 _ 5 - 10 2 _ 5 7 - 10 2 _ 5 . 2 . 2 = 11 _ 10 8 - 10 _ 5 _ 10 = 10 _ 3 3 - 10 x 3 _ 10 = 9 - 20 3 - 10 . _ . 3 - 9 = 27 - 30 Now what you do for dividing fractions is you just flip the second fraction upside-down then multiply across. It's that simple, but just remember that you NEVER flip the first fraction upside-down.Well that concludes our lesson on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and finally dividing fractions.
