Visualizing and Verbalizing
We are going to picture words/phrases in
our minds.

This helps us remember what
we read and hear.
I want you to help me visualize a picture in my head.

3. Color
4. Number
5. Shape
6. Where
When given a word, you will create a detailed picture in your mind.

You will be asked to describe your image.

Use the structure words to help develop your picture!
1. I say a word and ask you to picture it.
2. You verbalize your imagery.
3. I question you with choice and contrast to
develop and extend your imagery, "What are you picturing for...?"
4. You check through your structure words for details.
5. I summarize "Your words made me picture..."
6. I look for signs you are visualizing.
So let's say I ask you to picture your bedroom, what do you see?

Now I am going to say a word and show you a picture of that word.
I am going to just say a word this time and you tell me what you picture.

Remember to use the structure words to describe the image in your mind!
