-Brain Stem What is the Cerebrum? largest part of the human brain
associated with higher brain function such as "thought" and "action".
divided into four sections(lobes) the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, and temporal lobe
location: situated above the other two parts of the brain(cerebellum and brain stem. What is the Brain stem? Underneath the limbic system
responsible for basic vital life functions such as breathing, heartbeat, and blood pressure.
composed of 3 parts: midbrain, pons, and medulla.

involved in memory, emotion, and fear. Hippocampus the portion of the cerebral hemispheres in basal medial part of the temporal lobe

recalling spatial relationships involved in functions such as vision, hearing, eyemovement, and body movement.
anterior part has the cerebral peduncle(huge bundle of axons traveling from the cerebral cortex through the brain stem and these fibers along with other structures) --> important for voluntary motor function
Midbrain Pons part of the metencephalon in the hindbrain
involved in motor control and sensory analysis(example:information from the ear first enters the brain in the pons)
has parts important for the level of consciousness and for sleep
some structures are linked to the cerebellum (involved in movement and posture)
Medulla Oblongata between the pons and spinal cord
responsible for maintaining vital body functions (like breathing and heartrate) How to improve your brain? Cerebrum:
