Our video depicts rich and poor classes. The richer one has to pay a handsome amount of money which he lost while playing poker. The other two men were from poor backgrounds as maintaining their career is considered to be their main priority. The implementation of mise-en-scene and conventions allows the audience to relate to typical stereotypes. For example, a rickshaw driver was in shabby clothes and the hassle of catching a public transport is a common issue in our Pakistani society. The ones from a wealthy background are shown well dressed along with a formal/respective delivery of dialogues. The digetic sounds like the dialogue delivery of the characters were clearly showcased to make sure that it can be heard and laughed at.
The opening task targets families and youth so we carefully focused on high key lighting to create a joyful/friendly atmosphere. We also employed certain sound effects for a dramatic feeling which the children of our society can compare how humor is automatically expressed when adding cheerful/funny non-digetic sounds when showing an accident not appear serious. For instance, "Dumb and Dumber" and "Mr. Bean's Holiday" movies. Whereas, in our preliminary task we did not seriously took certain measures into account that could actually actually make my clip entertaining. The character types are also matched accordingly as an idiotic actor is used in contrast with a group of "normal" people, this shows the juxtaposition of the personalities and emphasizes the stupidity of the folly character.
My opening task was influenced by a diversification of sexuality. Following the similar codes and convention the video showcases that women are also earning big and being employed in various fields. For example, a scene where a lady boss has a superior authority in employing male staff. Represented by a strong voice over, mise-en-scene, mid shots etc. "The Proposal" movie also falls under this category.
Our media product represents issues commonly faced by social group of Asians and the outcome of such issues. For instance, public transport hassle is observed in both Pakistan and India. The characters in the task easily reveal such stereotypes again through dialogue delivery and mise-en-scene etc.
