Transcript of Biosphere Reserve

What is a
Biosphere Reserve? Human geography influences on biosphere reserves Biosphere reserves restore social development and cultural diversity. Sustainable development can only be achieved by working with other groups and organizations committed to the same goals, building networks, facilitating dialogue, and coordinating programs with other partners. People can work together and educate, facilitate and provide leadership to achieve sustainable development. Research, education and tourism can be done to address conservation and sustainability issues and get people involved. Biosphere reserves are
mainly formed where people settle. The research centers

Reserves Biosphere reserves are voluntary, cooperative, conservation reserve and terrestrial and coastal ecosystems of the earth and designated by UNESCO’s’ Man and Biosphere’ program [MAB], to protect the biological and cultural diversity and manages sustainable use of natural resources of a region. There are currently 598 biosphere reserves in 117 countries. 16 of these are in Canada, in eight provinces. The main idea of a biosphere reserve is to create a vibrant, healthy, sustainable environment across the world while conserving it's natural and cultural heritage. Creating a connection among people and cultures worldwide on how to live in harmony with the environment and each other is the principal concept of a biosphere reserve. Influences of
physical geography
on biosphere reserves The vision of a biosphere reserve is the conservation and wise use of natural resources through local and national actions and international cooperation, as a contribution towards achieving sustainable development throughout the world. The Canadian Biosphere Reserves Association Reserves (CBRA) was formed in 1996 to authenticate creative resolution to conservation and sustainable development of nature & expedite the development of new Canadian reserves. The 16 reserves in Canada have positive impacts so that people can live in peace and harmony. Biosphere reserves acquaints people the consequences of using pesticides, extinction of different species and cutting trees which threatens human welfare. These reserves make people build environmental awareness and respect. Furthermore, biosphere reserves are also used for research on different species and wild-life. Tourism is also one of the main activities. School trips, conferences, publications and other educational programming are also done here. At the national level, biosphere reserves can serve as pilot sites or "learning places". The World Network of Biosphere Reserves provides a means for a global community of scientists to collaborate in developing the knowledge and understanding for the management of biosphere reserves. This Network contribute significantly to the maintenance of the life support systems which serve to avoid soil erosion, maintain
soil fertility, recycle nutrients and absorb air and water pollutants. Tourism E

biosphere reserve: 1. Biodiversity
conservation 2. Sustainable development 3. Logistical support The location of a biosphere reserve is one of the main factors of protecting the wildlife. The climatic conditions of a reserve varies. They depend on the geographical position, its geography, prevailing air masses and many other factors. The canadian reserves were designated to protect the endangered species of Canada. The reserves are situated on the south across Canada where the species are vulnerable. The climate is mostly temperate and a bit subarctic. So, there's lots of wind without excessive heat, the four seasons are well marked here and it is a great place for the species. The idea of biosphere reserve can be used as a foundation to guide and reinforce projects to enhance people's livelihoods and ensure environmental sustainability.
They provide practical ways to resolve land use conflicts and to protect biological diversity.
A biosphere reserve area gains access to information, expertise, support and funding through national and international networks.
of a biosphere reserve can raise awareness among local people, citizens, and government authorities on environmental and development issues.

Global warming: Due to global warming there has been temperature change and natural disasters like floods, hurricanes. etc. Ecotourism minimises these impact. Tree planting, soil erosion control, pest control can be done by making people conscious about the consequences of global warming. Providing financial benefits and empowerment for local people and building cultural and environmental respect are the principles of ecotourism. https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=uS32EyxSo_A Animal extinction is also one of the main issues of our world. Biosphere reserves play a vital role in saving these species from harm. They work as wildlife refuge and and provide habitat to native birds, fish and plants. Local people can work together and protect this wildlife refuge. Biosphere reserves are free from pesticides and herbicides and have shelter and enough food. Another way to stop this is by buying sustainable products. Deforestation is done cause of fuel, building materials and to clear land for farming which harms the biodiversity. Protecting biodiversity is now very essential since biodiversity is crucial for reducing climate pollution and dealing as well as adapting to the effects of climate change. If we don’t protect biodiversity, the effects could be as harmful as the effects of global warming itself. Ecotourism provides effective economic incentives for conserving and enhancing biodiversity and helps protect the natural and cultural heritage of our beautiful planet. The
