traditional “solitary confinement” way of
learning an instrument. The beauty of El Sistema
lies in its simplicity Children are part of the orchestra
from the beginning. Founded in 1975 by José Antonio Abreu "Essentially this is a social system that fights
poverty." Abreu explained. "A child's physical
poverty is overcome by the spiritual richness
that music provides." 125 youth orchestras more than 80% of students
come from low income areas 380,000 children engaged in national music programs 285 núcleos (community schools) Famous
