It can change to sedimentary by first weathering and erosion happening than turning in to sediment. After it turns to sediment than the process of how sedimentary rock forms start. Igneous changes to metamorphic by the rock going below the surface and be change by high temperature or pressure. The heat can be from the mantle or magma. Magma and lava creates igneous rock. It destroys all the of the three main types of rocks. It can also help create metamorphic rock. Metamorphic rock can change to igneous rock by melting from extreme heat than by cooling down above or below the surface. It can change to sedimentary by being affect by weathering and erosion than the rock turns into sediment. After that the sediment is move by water, ice, or wind to different locations like lakes,oceans,rivers and valleys and deposition is at play here. When the sediment settles and more sediment falls on top and then they start getting tighter compaction is happening. Than the minerals in the rocks start to disappear in the water and they also start gluing together the process is called cementation. This process on how sedimentary rock are formed takes millions of years. Sedimentary rock can change to each main rock including itself. It can change to itself by weathering and erosion changing it to sediment than deposition, compaction, and cementation makes it back to sedimentary rock again. The way it changes to igneous rock is when sedimentary melts and becomes into magma. Now the magma can either erupt and become extrusive rock or cool inside the Earth and be intrusive rock. It becomes metamorphic rock by heat and pressure from the Earth. Sediment is formed by weathering and erosion from the main rocks which are igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock. Sediment can make sedimentary rock, it can change or form into igneous and metamorphic. Describe what natural element is caused by weather and erosion. Natural elements caused by weather are: Heating and cooling, Wedging, Crystallization, and Pressure Release. Heating and cooling is when temperature causes rock to stress. Wedging has two types the first is when plant roots go in cracks of rock than the roots begin to grow and break the rock in pieces. The second is when water gets in cracks of rocks and freeze pushing a part of the rock away. Crystallization is deep water in the rock that comes up to the surface than evaporates this causes fractures in the rock. As the process repeats itself soon it will only be sediments. Pressure release is when rock get a lot of weight that pressure releases that causes it to be broken into pieces. Natural elements caused by erosion are:Wind, Water, Ice, and Gravity. Describe how the sediment traveled to a river, ocean, or valley. Sediment can travel to a river, ocean, or valley by three ways water, wind, or ice. Wind picks up the sediment an moves it to a river or valley. Ice or glaciers pick up rocks than the rock will come off the glacier and float to the bottom of the ocean. The rock breaks pieces off by hitting other rocks or by water. Than the water carry's the sediments to rivers, ocean, or valleys.
