Biotic Factors Abiotic 12E: Describe biotic and abiotic parts of an ecosystem in which organisms interact. Biotic, means related to life. Biotic factors in and environment, are the factors/organisms that are alive. This includes formerly living things. Abiotic & Biotic Organisms Abiotic factors are non-living or once-living things. Abiotic factors affect biotic factors.

Definition:Physical rather than biological; not derived from living organisms.
