McCullough and his son in Moline, Illinois An Acquisition: -the first official restaurant opened in 1940 in Joliet, Illinois -to make Dairy Queen an actual business franchise, the McCulloughs partnered with Sheb Noble -in 1987, Dairy Queen loved the taste of the Orange Julius chain so much that they bought the company -this is a horizontal merger because Dairy Queen and Orange Julius are in relatively the same business; this does not affect the supply chain, but rather a range of products "now you can get your Dilly Bar where you get your Julius Original!" -IDQ not only does business with people in the United States, but also possesses thousands of franchises around the world (China, France, etc.) -The Dairy Queen Franchise is a part of the fast food chain where prices are low and there are many restaurants around the world Subsidiaries: Orange Julius and Karmelkorn the Largest Blizzard on record weighed 8,224.85 pounds and was 22 feet fall 2. there are 5 different kinds of Dairy Queen franchise buildings based on products sold: a.)
