Transcript of Circulatory System
Circu - what?
The Circulatory System
-allows us to breathe
-transports blood and oxygen from the lungs around the body
-protects the body from infections and blood lose
-helps the body maintain a constant body temperture
-helps maintain fluid balance within the body
-if it fails, death can occur instantly
-flow of blood is necessary to live
- it fights away viruses
- it keeps the body temperature in place
- blood can't be transported throughtout your body without the circulatory system
Well folks, there you have it! The Circulatory System is very important for us and our body. We hope you have learned one main thing from our presentation, without the circulatory system we would not be alive!! Thank you for giving us your time and attention.

Relationship of the tissues and organs
Respiratory System -
Urinary System -
Nervous System -
- major glands
Dependent on other systems
artery walls thicken because of too much calcium or cholesterol
also known as high blood pressure and can lead to heart attacks or strockes
the aorta gets damaged and eventually tears because of obesity, high blood pessure, or internal bleeding
ttack on valves that control blood flow throughout the heart
incomplete development of the heart or blood vessels

The job of the heart is to pump blood throughout the body. We need oxygen to give our cells energy. The oxygen we breathe in goes to our lungs. If the heart doesn't work then we die.
The job of the blood is to move nutrients, oxygen, and waste products through the body. Blood also carries cells which have their own functions.
*Red blood cells - carry oxygen
*White blood cells - germ fighters
Blood vessels come in different sizes. Some are large like a highway and some are small like streets.
Types of Blood Vessels:
-carry blood away from heart carrying oxygen.
-exchange nutrients and oxygen with blood cells.
-carry blood to heart carrying wastes.
The lungs are pairs of elastic, spongy organs used for breathing. In humans the lungs take up alot of the chest cavity. They are located just behind, and to either side of the heart.
-blood gets pumped from the heart through blood vessels and into the lungs
-connective tissue supports the other tissues
The bigger u are the slower the Heart beat
THE HEART DOES NOT NEED THE BODY THE BODY NEEDS THE HEART
WHO WANTS CANDY
- protects, supports other tissues together. connective tissue cells provide flexibility. some examples are bones and blood
-stores energy, forms a protection around organs such as kidney, reduces heat loos, and its formed by groups of fat cells.
-covers the whole surface of the body. IT is made of cells closely packed and ranged in one or more layers
-is made of muscle cells use energy to contract and creat a pulling force.
-is responsible for putting signals to and from different parts of the organsim.
