Transcript of The Impact of Princess Diana's Death
Born on July 1, 1961 in Sandringham, England.
Married Prince Charles on July 29, 1981.
Two children, William & Henry.
Divorced Charles August 28, 1996.
Died August 30, 1997. Dodi & Diana Diana finally let her cares go and started
dating Dodi Al-Fayed. They had so much in
common, from their childhood's, to their financial
situations. And this aspect was important to
Diana, she could be sure that he wasn't in it for
the money. Throughout the summer of '97 they took many short vacations together How it Happened Henri Paul, the security guard from the hotel,
was speeding while driving to avoid the paparazzi. The speed limit around the Parisian Tunnel is 50 mph, he was going around 112. They started spinning and slammed into the dividing post. Both Dodi and Henri died on impact. Trevor Reese-Jones and Diana were both alive after the crash. A doctor happened to be traveling in the same direction, and stopped to see if there was anything he could do. He knew that Dodi and Henri were dead so he went to Diana and she was having trouble breathing. When she got to the hospital they saw that she had massive internal bleeding, they managed to stop that but then her heart stopped beating. They tried, unsuccessfully to start her heart again, but she was dead. Leading up to the Accident AUGUST 30-
Diana and Dodi had ended their vacation
and were on the way home to Diana's kids.
But before they got there they wanted to
spend a few days in Paris. They had dinner at
the Ritz, but they didn't eat much. They
arranged for a distraction for the paparazzi,
and they left in a different car with a
bodyguard and a hotel security member. Of
course the paparazzi found out and
followed them. The Secret After the crash they found out that Henri was drunk. He had 1.75 milliliters of alcohol in his system, that's equal to 8 shots of whiskey. He also had drugs in his system. Why he was the one driving, with the Princess and Dodi in the car, is beyond anyone's guess. The Effect on Her Community All of England mourned her death. From her ex mother in law, to all the poor citizens that she spent most of her life helping. Against tradition she didn't have a state burial. She was buried at her childhood home, Althorp House. Her funeral procession lasted approximately 2 hours. Everyone on the street that watched the car go by chanted, "Diana, Diana..." Her community was devastated. Their savior was gone. They were left to fend for themselves.
