Student Blogs:
Clearly, we need to use education to advance tolerance and understanding. Perhaps more than ever, international understanding is essential to world peace -- understanding between faiths, between nations, between cultures. Today, we know that just as no nation is immune to conflict or suffering, no nation can defend itself alone. We need each other -- as friends, as allies, as partners -- in a struggle for common values and common needs.

Former U.N. Secretary-General

Why I studied abroad...
The Top 10 Reasons to Study Abroad
Dave, give me one good reason I should study abroad.
How about I give you...
Reason number 11:
Where can I go?
Why Study Abroad?
Valencia, Spain
Cape Town, South Africa
Mai Chau, Vietnam
Florence, Italy
Kanagawa, Japan
Alajuela, Costa Rica
Copenhagen, Denmark
Auckland, New Zealand
Melbourne, Australia
London, England
Yangshuo, China
I decided to study abroad because I wanted to learn more about my heritage and to improve my "native language" of Chinese.
I was able to spend a year getting to know my relatives better and learning more about Taiwanese culture.
Whereas I once was forced to have my mom translate for me during our visits, I am now able to communicate on my own with my family, which is an amazing feeling.
My studies aside, I had an amazing time. I was able to meet lots of great people and travel all around. Even a year abroad felt too short.
