Apps are created to help make programs more user friendly

There are two main systems designed for apps
Custom Native Apps
Web Applications
Custom Native Apps
Include unique hardware and software capabilities within mobile devices, such as GPS and localization tools, accelerometers and touchscreens

The level of interaction that native apps create to the user interface is difficult, if not impossible, to achieve through a Web browser
Web Applications
Only one system needs to be developed and enhanced to for users.

Development and maintenance are simpler and less labor intensive for a single application.

Mobile web designers must keep in mind that Mobile Web browsing has changed dramatically over the past couple of years and is predicted to change drastically again over the next two years, largely as a result of 4G.
