The Climate Crisis
By Charlotte Vincent
Our World Is Changing
Every day our world is warming.
Every day more carbon dioxide is being emitted into the atmosphere. This is called the climate crisis, and it's in our hands.
The Problems, And Who's Causing Them
-3 main problems to the crisis
-Global Warming (Greenhouse Gas Effect.)
-We are causing these problems
The Greenhouse Gas Effect
-Global Warming is very serious.
-Every day millions of tons of carbon dioxide rise into the atmosphere.
-From many sources.
-Exhaust from cars, burning fossil fuels , burning wood.
-CO2 makes atmosphere thicker, trapping heat.
-Deforestation is another problem that is part of the climate crisis.
-Trees take in CO2 and let out oxygen. - -Lately, a lot of trees have been cut down.
- Creating room for houses and towns, or for farm land.
-This means that more CO2 is rising into the atmosphere, therefore making it thicker and trapping in heat.
Now, as a world we need to solve this problem before it is too late. We can help by educating ourselves about these problems, then taking action. We can take action by reducing our carbon footprint, donating money to organizations that plant trees, study the climate change, or search for renewable energy. Also, you can tun off lights in your home when you're not in the room, and switch to energy efficient bulbs. Small changes can make a huge difference.
As seen in the picture below, it may just look like a hazy day in China.
-Currently, China's air is not very clean.
-So much pollution like CO2 is rising into the air, and it's not safe for the people who live there.
-We need to change this, and reduce the CO2 that's going into the air and our atmosphere.
I hope that I have inspired you to take action, and protect our world. Remember, it is our decision, and it's in our hands.
