photo credit Nasa / Goddard Space Flight Center / Reto Stöckli By Alyssa Prichard Light Pollution This is our world at night light pollution is misdirected or wasted light The effects 1st, light pollution wastes billions of dollars comparison this is in the middle of the desert Street lights how we can prevent light pollution make sure outside lights are pointed down you might not think it does, but light pollution has a negative effect It wastes natural resources, such as oil the air is filled with electricity so your breathing in fossil oils which is very bad for your lungs light pollution harms night time animals. If an area has bright lights, the animals wont reproduce light pollution is like second-hand smoke with all of the fossil oils burning this is in a city area streetlights that have a round bulb cause glare and cause you to have a harder time seeing (maybe cause of some car crashes) but flat bulbs direct light on the place below it not causing any glare switch to low watt bulbs (the light is not as bright) light what only needs to be lighted cover the tops of lights so it does not reflect onto the sky
