Uses of the Present Tense

1. To Express
3 English Translations

2. To Express a Generality or Universal Truth
Los pájaros cantan.

Los caballos corren.

Los accidentes ocurren.
Birds sing.

Accidents happen.
3. To Express Habitual Actions
Normalmente descanso por la tarde.

Siempre comemos juntos.

I usually rest in the afternoon.

4. To Express the English Progressive
