what is pH
pH is the measurement of how acidic or alkaline (basic) N AQUES substance. it is measured in 0 being acidic,14 being alkaline
If the substance has higher pH level the substance will freeze faster because of the extra atoms in the substance making it easier for the atom to come closer and form a solid
Science fair project
How is pH measured?
pH is measured from the amount of hydrogen atoms present in a substance. The less hydrogen atoms present the more acidic . The more hydrogen atoms the more basic.
Does the acidic or alkaline level of a substance effect the freezing point of a substance? Will it freeze? If yes ,what time and temperature will it freeze at?
6 PLASTIC CUPS
3 ACIDIC SUBSTANCES
3 ALKALINE SUBSTANCES
1.Take and label each cup with the substance you are filling it with .
2.Make sure each liquid is at room temperature before pouring it into labeled cups.
3.Fill each cup quarter with the liquid.
4.Set all six cup into freezer and set the time to 40 minutes.
5.When the timer goes off, check the cups to see if there are any changes in the liquid, repeat the process until completely frozen.
