Renewable Energy
Introduction
Hydroelectric Power
Hydroelectric Power
Conclusion
There are many good types of renewable energy. Using any type of renewable energy is better than using unrenewable energy such as fossil feuls.
Though each type of energy has their pros and cons, they are all very good options for renewable energy. They are all nonpolluting, good sources of energy.

What is it:
Solar energy is the energy given off by the sun, in the forms of light, heat, and WHAT. Solar energy is the Earth’s largest source of energy

Advantages:
Nonpolluting
Infinite supply
Does not contribute to global warming
Help avoid blackouts and brownouts
Solar panels are silent, and easy to operate and maintain
Can cut utility bills for both residences and businesses
Prices are dropping
Since many solar panel companies are U.S based, it supplies jobs for many Americans and reduces the country’s dependence on foreign coal, oil, and gas.

Solar energy--> Energy from sun, in forms such as light and heat.
Largest source of energy.

There are 3 different ways that solar energy is acquired.
images from http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/kids/solutions/technologies/solar.html
Disadvantages:
Solar power is only available when the sun is actually shining
High Cost
3. Passive Solar Heating
1. Solar Thermal Technology
2. Photovoltaic Cells
Solar energy is important for many reasons. It can be used in many ways, including:
Cars
Cooking
Electricity for homes and businesses
Heating for homes and businesses
Water heaters
Water treatment plants
Increased use of solar energy will decrease the amount of nonrenewable energy being used, which decreases greenhouse gas emissions.

Hydroelectric power is electrical power that is generated through the energy of flowing water. It has the advantage of using only renewable resources, and not producing harmful waste or byproducts

How does it work ?
The
water cycle
is driven directly by solar energy. When the sun heats the water in the ocean, some of the water on the surface is vaporized. The water vapor rises and when it reaches higher layers of air and is cooled, the waterfalls down in the form of rain, hail or snow. The water flows in streams and rivers, finally reaching the sea where it again evaporates.

Advantages/Disadvantages
Advantages:
wind energy electricity no pollution
Wind is infinite, fossil fuels are not.
Wind turbines are one of the fastest sources of energy to retrieve back the energy they were used to create.
And many more...

Disadvantages:
Winds can be unreliable, No wind Strong winds
Before, wind turbines have been placed, and caused harm to bats and birds, however, now wind turbines location are being thought with the path of migration of bats and birds.

Advantages:

Doesn't cause pollution
Once a dam is constructed, electricity can be produced at a constant rate
When in use, electricity produced by dam systems do not produce green house gases
The lake that forms behind the dam can be used for water sports and leisure / pleasure activities.
Saving natural resources
Dams as a water reservoir~ saves and reserves water so that the water is not wasted into oceans and seas
Controllable source of energy~ The rate of electricity produced can be changed by varying the speed of water flow
Hydropower plants provide benefits in addition to clean electricity
long-lasting source of energy

http://www.conserve-energy-future.com/Advantages_HydroPower.php
Disadvantage:
Limited use
Fish killing
Instillation cost
Emission of methane and carbon dioxide
Effects on agriculture~ Making dams on rivers affect the amount, quality and temperature of water that flow in streams which has drastic effects on agriculture and drinking water
Dams can break and can cause serious flooding
and more...

Hydroelectric plants provide around 7% of nation's electricity, which makes hydropower a very important source of energy.
http://hydroearth.blogspot.com/2012/10/how-important-is-hydropower-for-united.html
Water power is a vitally important part of electricity generation, mainly in low income nations where labour to build dams is cheap and the cost of electricity is high
Renewable energy is energy that can be obtained from natural resources that can be constantly replenished. Different types of renewable energy are wind, solar, hydroelectricity power, biomass, geothermal energy.
Renewable energy is any natural resource that is recycled or replaced constantly by nature. Different types of renewable energy are wind, solar, hydroelectricity power, biomass, geothermal energy.
Low resources for energy
High demands of energy
Danger of global warming
Enviromental danger of extracting energy from the Earth
Reasons for using wind energy
We think that solar energy is the best type of energy because it does not interfere with the enviornment.
-wind turbines can disrupt migration, kill bats & birds
-hydroelectric power kills trees and can cause flooding, etc.

Can tap into an infinite energy source
Meet any demand for energy
Extract energy without causing pollution
Don't have to worry about any dangers in harming the Earth
By using wind energy, we:
