Transcript of Kepler-186f presentation
On April 17, 2014, Astronomers from NASA discovers an validated Earth-sized alien planet using the Kepler telescope. It was found 490 light years away from Earth, and has a name that goes by "Kepler-186f", and is nicknamed "Earth's cousin" because of it's similar properties to Earth. For example, Kepler-186f is only 10 percent larger than Earth.
But what is very special about this planet is that it may possibly be habitable in which humans could live in because of it's location in the habitable zone of another star, meaning that Kepler-186f has a sufficient amount of atmospheric pressure that can support liquid water! And liquid water, means life!

But although there has been other planets that do reside in the habitable zone, they are usually all at least 40 percent larger than Earth, and understanding the structures of the planet would be challenging and Kepler-186f seemed
to be more reminiscent of Earth.
And according to Paul Hertz who is NASA's Astrophysics Division director on the discovery of the possible habitable planet Kepler-186f, "The discovery of Kepler-186f is a significant step toward finding worlds much like our planet Earth."
And that brings an end to this presentation! Maybe in a few hundred, or even thousands and thousands of years before Earth finally becomes uninhabitable, maybe human-kind can start on a new leaf on the planet Kepler-186f!
Kepler-186f however, isn't the only planet that resides in the habitable zones, neighboring planets like Kepler-22b, Kepler-62e, and Kepler-298d is also home to the habitable zones.
Kepler-186f orbits it's star once every 130-days and receives one-third the energy from its star that Earth gets from the sun, placing it nearer the outer edge of the habitable zone.
