Objectification in the Toy industry ~Barbie~
Give a girl a Barbie doll, and she develops low self-esteem.
Has become a growing problem among girls 8-18 years of age in recent years.
Happening in society everyday and affecting our mental stability and our ability to preform task such as math.
Objectification Of Women In Video Games
Gta 5, portrays the “damsel in distress” trope in addition to vivid images of violence against women. Also the previous GTA games were martyrs to the women’s rights cause, but GTA V takes it a step further and actually makes objectifying women a part of the game play itself!. Mainly GTA V has serious issues with women and at its core is a misogynistic undercurrent that drives much of the game play.
Most of all GTA’s has a poor portrayal of women because it have a serious effect on how men view women, especially on the younger players. Although the game is rated ‘M’ for Mature, the playing audience is well younger than 17.
Based on the information of WIEGER it says that "There are more than 16 million gamers playing GTA V, and it’s making a heavy impact in the lives of the people playing". Boys as young as 6 years old could be playing this game, subconsciously objectifying women and growing up to believe every women should look or act like they do in the game.
Objectification of women In pornography
Pornography, a industry run by men to objectify and to degrade women for their use and pleasure. The definiton of pornography printed or visual material containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings. Women are more likely to be objectified in pornography than man because of the lifestyle we live in. Pornography is a type of sex slavery. Like in a recent event with a tv star Mimi and Nikko sex tape that this couple privacy was invaded and is now all over the world. This sex tape changed Mimi and how she acted because of the sex tape, she started to set a bad example for her daughter. Prostitutes are also a from of pornography. Prostitutes are a bad influence on today times. Their are many types of pronography but i'm only going to talk about two which is prostitution and human trafficking.
Objectification of women in advertisements
Every day women are being objectifying through social media
Every day on teens see these advertisements weather it be in a magazine or even in a commercial
~On average children ages 8-18 are ether watching TV or on a social media device for approximately 31 hours per week
~ on these social media devices and these websites there are ether adds or commercials trying to say that you should be thinner, work out more or even buy a simple beauty product.
~America Objectified: An Analysis of the
Self-Objectification of Women in America and
Some Detrimental Effects of Media Images
~The video by Caroline Heldman
Average Barbie doll portrays a young white female with virtually "perfect" facial features and a "perfect" body.
American woman is a size 12-16.
If Barbie was real, she would have measurements of an 18" waist, 33" hips and a 36" bust which is a unhealthy and unrealistic size for a woman
In fact, she would have to have several ribs removed in order to have a 18" waist.
Objectification of women in the Toy Industry continued........
Real Or Fake???
"Thanks to a brave little girl and her mother, Mattel will continue to make bald Barbie "Ella" dolls for children battling cancer. The toy company produced a limited supply of the dolls after two women, Beckie Sypin and Jane Bingham, asked them to make bald Barbies in 2012. They started a Facebook movement for the cause, which gained over 100,000 ”likes” and ultimately succeeded: Mattel agreed to produce the bald dolls named “Ella” and distribute them to children's hospitals."
-The Huffington Post
Objectification in the Toy Industry ~Bratz~
"The panel defined sexualization as occurring 'when a person's value comes only from her/his sexual appeal or behavior, to the exclusion of other characteristics, and when a person is sexually objectified, e.g., made into a thing for another's sexual use.'
The report cites Bratz dolls, in particular, for 'sexualized clothing such as miniskirts, fishnet stockings and feather boas.'
'Although these dolls may present no more sexualization of girls or women than is seen in MTV videos, it is worrisome when dolls designed specifically for 4- to 8-year-olds are associated with an objectified adult sexuality,' the report says."

Hooker Heels, Mini Skirts, Fish-net, Crop-Tops, and
PILES OF MAKEUP!!!
Is this the type of role models that we want our youth to be exposed to at such an early age?
Aren't we subjecting them to self-objectification?
Studies show adolescents are more "exposed" today than ever before in recorded history because of the amount of sexualization of women being advertised.
This is how its done!!!
Made according to typical human body proportions.
Lammily wears minimal makeup.
Is dressed with striking simplicity.
Rather than waiting for toy companies to change their designs, let’s change them ourselves by creating a fashion doll that promotes realistic beauty standards.
(All info from the Lammily web-page)
~Through these devices their are half naked women in bathing suites trying to sell these products such as swim ware, beauty products, lotion, or even an add for the tanning salon.
~The young people of today see these adds and it immediately goes to their heads that they need to look like these women in order to be beautiful.
~These women are being objectified and only seen as an object or prop in a video or image.
These women are being used to sell men shoes. As you can see, there is a picture of a shoe on the wall that says "Live your fantasy" which is saying that men can have their choice of women and then throw them away like empty drink bottles. It is saying if you have these shoes then you can chose a women like you chose a soft drink.
"This is my hero. Her name is Julia. She’s a 14-year-old who got Change.org to put a petition together, 85,000 signatures. She went to New York, and Seventeen magazine agreed that they would not Photoshop any of their models from here on out"
We raise our little boys to view their bodies as tools to master their environments. We raise our little girls to view their bodies as projects to constantly be improved.
Because of women seeing their bodies as objects this can result in eating disorders due to starvation in order to be skinny , low self esteem depression and in extreme cases death

The makers of this magazine are using this women to sell their product in this case the magazine and body paint.
Tomb Raider wanted to catch the attention of the male-dominated video game industry). Yet nobody cared about Lara Croft’s back story or even her personality, instead, those who played the game only cared about how Lara Croft looked and how they can play and control her in a way that most men wanted to control women in reality. It seems to put men more in “control” over the women.
Also Despite the fact that Lara Croft’s body was used as another objectification, Lara Croft does something that most men couldn’t do: explore tombs, uncovering secret artifacts, shooting packs of wolves, even killing a T-Rex. This gave the notion that Lara Croft is a symbol for the empowerment of women
Prostitution, a form of pornography. A bad influence on women today. Prostitution is a bad because it degrades women who do that. The definition of prostitution is the business of practice of engaging in sexual relationships in change for pay. This goes along with the definition of pornography. Sexual acts is very bad and it degrades people who practice it for money or an to gain some profit from it.
Human trafficking also another form of pornography. Human trafficking is the illegal movement of people, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. Human trafficking is terrible because is not just a form of pornography but is is also a form of slavery.
"Objectification is seeing women just because of their looks and the way they act instead of who they are on the inside"
