Transcript of RAT POISON

Mild to severe depending on amount ingested, active ingredient, and it's concentration.
it also depends what form it was taken as, pill or powder form one works quicker than the other
First exposure of rat poison
1977, a 19-month-old girl living in Qatar fell ill due to thallium poisoning (from pesticides used by her parents). While doctors were unable to identify the cause, a nurse named Marsha Maitland managed to do it from the description of the symptoms
Level of Toxicity
Short term
Nose bleeds- difficult to control
Receives bruises easily
watches, rings
Cut take longer than normal to clot
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
its main contents include long-acting anticoagulants, cholecalciferol, bromethalin, and phosphide rodenticides. Other products similar are warfarin, thallium, and bromethalin.

started as injection then tablets to stay stabilized
blood transfusions may have to be made

Bobby Curley Case
His wife, joanne, would put thallium(found in rat poisoning) in his Thermos everyday for a year until symptoms began to show. Including numbness, headaches, hair loss and burning in the feet. Found it by testing his blood. Joanne ended up killing him in the hospital with a large dose in his drink. She got sentenced to jail 10-20years on the account of 3rd degree murder.
