Parts of a Seed Seed Coat Young plant Stored food in cotyledon Info A seed forms after fertilization, when sperm and eggs are joined. A seed is made up of 3 parts. The first part is a young plant, The second part is stored food. Which is often found in the cotyledons/ the seeds of a young plant. The 3rd is the seed coat. THe seed coat protects the seed from harm and danger.
